I saw this rant on Cbssportsline and i totally agreed with it, it was posted by a guy with the Username on cbssportsline lee-star, had to post it....enjoy

    The year was 2002.
The Pats had just come off of a superbowl win.
The Fish had the leagues best rusher, Ricky Williams had a career year.
The Bills had a top NFL passing game, w/ Moulds & Price getting 400 catches apiece.
    The Jets were 2-5.

    Who won the division?

The Jets, headed up by a first year QB, an over-the-hill RB, and an undersized WR corp took the East. The other 3 teams failed to make the play-offs.

Last season the offense was purged by free-agency (mainly by the 'Skins), the defense aged almost overnight, and lost the Franchise QB for half the year. Season lost.

But this year the team is re-tooled, younger, faster, and healthy.

They unloaded lead-footed dinosaurs OLB Mo Lewis, ILB Marvin Jones, SS Sam Garnes, and CB Aaron Beasley with LB Eric Barton, LB Victor Hobson, SS Reggie Tongue, and CB Dave Barrett - ALL of these guys are younger, faster upgrades - who play coverage better, and play run support better. They also drafted speed with ILB Jonathan Vilma and Ball-hawking CB Derrick Strait to play the nickel.

On Offense they unloaded WR Curtis Conway for Justin McCariens, a younger, faster, bigger WR and signed Michael Ricks who is a true pass catching TE upgrade over Becht - bith additions help spead the offense.

But most importantly they are healthy. Chad is healthy, John Abrahma is healthy, C-Mart is healthy. We are deep on the D-Line, RB, LB Corp, Secondary.

Do we have holes? Yes - every team does. Our OG spot is shakey, our WR corp is not deep, but the 1-2-3 are solid. We have no back-up QB, but if Chad goes down, season over anyway. But these are not huge obstacles.

Point is - we are reloaded and ready to pick up where we left off in 2002. And if the Pats want to look past us, that is fine. When the are looking up at us in the standings in December they can tell us all about how horrible we are.

There's nothing better than a long suffering Jets fan. As one of these people, I agree with that poster. I'd like to see the Jets have a good start for once and make a run.

Hey its good to see the Jets fans are up beat but come on it is us that have to fold for you to get there in 2002 and if we didn't have 5 games in a month all over the country that season (and we don't this year) we may not have had a 4 game losing streak and would have one the division easily instead of losing in a TIEBREAKER.

Also he is on crack to think you have a good defense going into this season....Your secondary is still terrible your linebackers may be faster but they still have to tackle and since you took our bait and traded up for the underacheiver in Robertson you D-line isn't as solid as he thinks. Abraham and Ellis are good but after that not much at all and pressure from the edges doesn't effect brady anyway the guy is the man at stepping up or just flat out getting rid of the ball before the rush gets going.

Another thing....How did Chad "Noodle Arm" Pennington look last season against us......EXPOSED. haha Our Secondary can jump any throw he makes.

I'm glad that someone see the jets D in the same condition I do.

37, my friend, I am debating whether I should sue for copyright and/or trademark infrigement as calling CP "Noodle arm" was a bA exclusive. I thought? ha ha ha!!!!

My paper work on CP was into the patent office eons ago & was returned shortly thereafter.

Of course, I keed (props to Triumph the comic insult dog). Anyone can use noodle arm just as long as I get the royalty checks.

I need all the $ I can. So, when I go to Wendover, NV (2 hrs from bA), I can bet it all on Miami to win the Super bowl.......in 2037

Theres few inconsistencies as I see them w/ this post.

    1) Does the original poster mean the 01 season? I think he does
    2) 6 games are played in division. How could the record be 2-5?
    3) Reggie Tongue has been around awhile and not what was a few years ago
    4) Vilma & Strait are rookies and thereby unproven.
    5) M. Ricks is a journeyman & not an upgrade over Becht IMO
    6) Maybe Deep on D line. No talent other than Abraham & Shaun Ellis
    7) Deep @ RB? An Unhappy Lamar Jordan will cause turmoil.

Lastly, Its taken 2 years to retool. I know it can't be just me but that really is not a fact to brag about.

I know the Dolphins are not perfect (they were one). Miami has not had a losing season in 15 yrs (even w/o Ganja boy I mean Ricky). Will that streak remain in tact? Only time will tell.

Patriots have proved they can handle Miami. With Ricky there & Bledsoe having a subpar season, the Bills were almost dead even w/ Miami so they IMO benefit the most w/ Ricky going away.

Jets fans can spin (imagine spin coming out of NYC) Ricky's "retirement" anyway they want. But, come December, the jets will still be looking up at the rest of AFC East.
