I like this rule: 2. The Salary of any player selected by an Expansion Team in an expansion draft and terminated in accordance with the NBA waiver procedure before the first day of the Expansion Team's first Season shall not be included in the Expansion Team's Team Salary, except, to the extent such Salary is paid, for purposes of determining whether the Expansion Team has satisfied its Minimum Team Salary obligation for such Season. (Article VII, Section 4) Charlotte can really use this to get some money and some draft picks, teams might give Charlotte the 3 million, and maybe a draft pick for them to take a big contract eg: (Penny, Stackhouse etc) and waive it therefore making the player a FA and no affecting anyone's cap. Then even after that the team that let the player go can re-sign them to a new smaller contract, or someone else can pick them up.
PG - Tony Delk SG - Dajuan Wagner SF - Josh Smith(he is a Small Foward in the east) PF - Stromile Swift C - Slava Medvdanko(sp?)
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">c - Chris Mihm or Raef LaFrentz, whichever Boston leaves unprotected</div> Mihm will be protected. Charlotte will not pick up Raef's contract. It's too big and he's not a game breaker. Charlotte can only spend 2/3 of thier cap the first year, so they kill themselves picking up Raef's contract. Don't expect to see either guy in Charlotte next year, IMO.
though i think that the bobcats will suck gotta think about it i mean theres this new team and crap and they end up last though out the season thats what i think
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Peja King:</div><div class="quote_post">.. i think they shuold get Peja Drobnjak at center, this guy is underrated!</div> He really is. Whenever the Clippers put him in for more than 20 minutes, he seems to produce more than 15 points. All season long its been killing me that we haven't been using him, because I really like this guy. I hope he goes to Charlotte too, just because I hate to see talent wasted and like I said I really like him, and I'd like to see the best situation for this guy.

gordon is not a good 4th pick, and drobjnak isnt that good. a good Center would be dampier, hes a free agent next year.
steve nash is a great free agent, though it is not likely that he would leave Dallas. pg - arroyo sg - sprewell sf - deng pf - swift c- mihm - this is a roster which is hard to get though, but it would make the Bobcats a threat I believe
my lineup would be pg - carlos arroyo sg - kobe(wont happen tho) sf - loul deng pf - stromile c - erik dampier
You guys know Charlotte has a small salary don't you? They can't be signing any big name free agents with their salary, if they have 6 guys getting paid 5 million their salary is basically all gone. So no Kobe, Nash, Erick Dampier or any of that, and do you think Nash and Dampier want to go and help a team rebuild, no they want to win rings. They can't even get Stro Show from the expansion, they can just make him and unrestricted FA if they draft him. PG - Frank Williams SG - Dahntay Jones (could happen) SF - Chris Jefferies PF - Biedrins C - Fransisco Elson (Denver might have no choice but to leave him, unless they want to let Skeeta go) Others: Melvin Ely, Travis Outlaw or Dan Dickau, Reggie Evans?, Jumiane Jones, Greg Buckner These are the expansion guys, now they can sign cheaper FA's like Arroyo, Keyoon Dooling, Marcus Fizer etc. Also about Fransisco Elson and Denver: <u>Protect</u> Carmelo Anthony Earl Boykins Nene Voshon Lenard Andre Miller Nikoloz Tskitishvili <u>Don't Protect</u> Fransisco Elson <u>Unrestricted FA</u> Rodney White Jon Barry Marcus Camby (opt out) Ryan Bowen Jeff Trepagnier Mark Pope Doleac Chris Andersen Denver will have to choose between him and Skeeta
My prediction I would pick: PG - Juan Dixon, Wizards SG - Ben Gordon/ Kerry Kittles, Nets SF - Tariq Abdul Wahad, Mavs PF - Walter McCarthy, Celtics/ Christian Laetner,Wizards C - Danny Fortson, Mavs
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Denver will have to choose between him and Skeeta</div> Why? You can protect up to eight players.
my starting 5 i'd pick PG - Juan Dixon, Wizards SG - Ben Gordon/ Kerry Kittles, Nets SF - Tariq Abdul Wahad, Mavs PF - Walter McCarthy, Celtics/ Christian Laetner,Wizards C - Danny Fortson, Mavs
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Supersonic:</div><div class="quote_post">Why? You can protect up to eight players.</div> Yes but you have to leave at least one player unprotected, if you only have 4 signed players you can't say oh we're under thel imit, you have to pick one out of those 4 players to be unprotected, so every team has to have at least one guy. So Denver could be losing Elson because I don't know if they want to let Skeeta go.
IMO thats a bad idea. Skita looks promising, just not in Denver. Elson played great this year and I wouldn't want to let go of him.
Protect Carmelo Anthony Earl Boykins Nene Voshon Lenard Andre Miller Nikoloz Tskitishvili Don't Protect Fransisco Elson What's a bad Idea, letting Skeeta go or letting Elson go. The Nuggets have 7 players under contract (including Restricted FA's), and you have to leave on guy unprotectedm and I don't think they want to leave Boykins, Melo, Nene, Andre, maybe Lenard, or Skeeta unprotected. Basically they have to choose between Skeeta, Elson and Lenard.
