rookies vs. sophomores game

wht do you guys think of the rookies vs. soph game? who will you start in your team? mine's will be:

sophs: yao, amare, boozer, caron and juany.

rookies: lebron, melo, wade, tj ford and bosh.

i'll give it to the sophomores in a very close game

Well, I know Caron has been hurt. Now that he's back he hasn't been playing all that much better that Casey Jacobson, and Wags hasn't even played a game. Even if they had promising rookie campaign's that doesn't warrent them a spot on the soph's squad.

i was coming from a pure speculation point, not necessarily who will be on the actual teams. but you got a point. the thing is, i'll rather start caron and juany than any other sophomore, based on their rookie seasons and this being an exhibition game.

They would be alot more exciting than a Casey Jacobson, or a Jiri Welsch.

I would put Tayshaun Prince on the sophmore team, he deserves it.

by Juany, are you referring to Dajaun Wagner. Has he even step on the court yet this year? It would be fun but their are alot of players more deserving than him like Jiri Welch & Prince. Flip Murray( I dont know how everyone forgot about him),Mehet Okur, his own teamate Carlos boozer. They all deserve to go before him.

Its going to be fun to watch Melo & Lebron play on the same team. It might be harder to find a ticket for the rookie game on Saturday, then it will be to find a ticket to Sundays all-star game. This might be the only time Lebron & Melo play on the Same team ever. With Melo playing in the West & Bron playing in the East, & the likely hood of them ever being traded is slim. They will never get to play on an all-star team together. And with the Dream team rumored to be going back to the format of using college players after this summers games, will rule out the problablity of them ever playing on that team together. We might just be watching history here.

I won't go that far with Bron yet, however, if he keeps up this current 2 week plus pace through January, he will be selected for the all star game easily.

So lets talk about that a month from today.

I agree with Henacy, I would love to see Melo and Bron play on the same team, I think they need it because all people do is compare them and it's not fair. Let these kids play ball and enjoy watching them play.

Yao will be selected as the center to backup Shaq easily, or if his votes pick up he can still start.

Kirk Hinrich deserves to go to the Rookie/Sophomore game, he's been playing great lately.

2002 Roster
PG: Juan Dixon

SF: Tayshaun Prince
PF: Carlos Boozer
C: Amare Stoudemire

Caron Butler
Mike Dunleavy
Drew Gooden
Frank Williams
Casey Jacobsen
Kareem Rush
Chris Wilcox

Dajuan Wagner* (Maybe, has a month to put up some good games)

2003 Roster

PG: LeBron James
SG: Dwyane Wade
SF: Carmelo Anthony
PF: Chris Kaman
C: Chris Bosh

T.J. Ford
Kirk Hinrich
Jarvis Hayes
Luke Ridnour
Josh Howard
Kyle Korver
Jason Kapono

If James makes it..

Boris Diaw, Zarko Cabarkapa (health?), or Steve Blake can be looked at.

My bad of I left anybody out, but this is what I came up with. All I have to say is "WOW" what an amazing game this is going to be, even if they play no defense.

Zarko is due to return against the Kings on January 13, it's possible he'll play the game before against the Nuggets. The same goes for Amare.

Isnt Flip a sophmore? last season he was a rookie on the Bucks & Sonics. If my memory serve me correctly. And if he is who would be taken off of KJ sophmore team to put him on? I say Caron beause he has had a season full of injury.

Ha, I knew I forgot someone, yes Flip must be there, I agree that Butler must come off now, I only out him in because there was a lack of guards on that team.

King James, why Bosh at Center instead of Kaman? I mean, Kaman's a full seven foot, and big, too. There's no way he could keep up with anyone who would possibly play the PF position out there.

Then again, can he keep up with the other Centers?

Anyway, the Rookie team is probably going to beat the Sophomores by at least 12 points.

Yeah, all those other guards deserve to go more than Caron. But you have to admt, that a healthy Caron(especially the way he played last season) & Flip Murray would give lebron & Carmelo alot of comp. That would be real interesting. But looking at the current roster the game still will be evenly matched. The Sophs have the edge inside & the Rooks have the edge on the perimeter.

Well, assuming Flip doesn't watch them fly by.
