Glen's shot has really fallen off this season, and as any pure shooter will tell you, the only way to get out of a slump is to keep shooting it. I highly doubt Glen would be any more effective than Walt as a shooter, and I think you'd probably get more out of the Wiz in the locker room. Just my own two cents, though.
Page 9 It's true that Rice is a washup, but we don't necessaraly need him to be a potential difference maker in every game. We just need an expericanced shooter, and he is probably the best shot Cleveland has. Neither the vets nor the rookies on the Cavs can sink a pure jumper. Rice still has a few season's left to be our "Reggie Miller" type of role player just like Indiana has.
That's right people, we don't need the old Glen Rice, just as I have been saying all we need is someone that you have to keep a body on on the perimeter so we can spread the floor a bit for LeBron to drive/finish/dish. I don't care if Rice is 40, you still can't give him open looks from deep.
If you were Paxon... What player changes would you make before the deadline? Lets face it, we are "trying" to make a playoff run and our current roster isn't going to cut it. Who should we sign? Who should we trade? Who should we waive? The way I see it we are in desperate need of an offensive threat. Well lets take a look at the top three FA: Walt Williams, Glen Rice, and Isiah Rider. If I was Pax, I would go ahead and waive Ruben Bum-Bum and J.R. Bummer. Then I would go ahead and fill the IL spots with Kedrick Brown and Jason Kapono. Then go ahead and sign Rice. He can spread the floor, he can drain the open look, and he probably is cheap as well. I know most of you might disagree with my next statement but I feel that Cleveland should be the team that gives Rider a chance. Do you really think he will be a bad influence on LeBron? If so, how? This man is seemed to have matured enough to know his role and to strive to make himself a better person. Sign the man to a 10-day and lets see how it goes.
i disagree with the rider move, he is a bum. u should have heard some of the statements he made. one example, he said if he sins with a team he is gonna need them to hire someon to wake him up so he doesnt miss practice. thats not the dedication u want from a player. u know what rice wouldnt be a bad pick up, butttt he is old now and im sure he wants to be on a championship team. id like to get eddie jones and move bron to sf.i know jones costs some money and u might have to give someone up for him. but he can score,shoot, and play defense.
Im pretty sure he was joking about hiring a human alarm clock. In the interview he had he stated that being late will not be a problem.
