this doesn't just mean NBA teams but your 5 favorite basketball squads and why they are...

1. 1991-1992 Michigan Wolverines - The Fab Five..who doesn't know 'em? They are my all-time favorite team. These cats brought the streets to the NCAA,they expanded further on what Larry Johnson/Stacey Augmon did out west. The five guys played fast and loose and had fun plus talked alot of trash..they looked like they played like all the rest of us,for fun plus it was really really cool to see 'em beatin' up on established programs..can't forget to mention the new style of fashion they ushered in..baggy shorts and the black socks were a helluva touch. Lost in all of it was the fact that they in fact played good team basketball. Some people said they were overrated and not as good as everyone made them out to be,but I disagree these guys changed the college game forever. The Fab Five racheted up my passion for the game, changed the way I approached the game plus made me look good doin' it.

2. 1989-1990 UNLV Runnin' Rebels - LJ...Thats what this is about for real...I saw him play for the first time and immediately was drawn to his street swagger and style of play. He was truly the first player that brought the style of the street to college,he paved the way for players like Webber and Porter and countless others....plus watchin' this team was truly somethin' else. I think they may have been able to challenge a few professional teams they were so good....

3. 1986-1987 Atlanta Hawks - 'Nique! This team was perhaps the greatest testament to Dominique Wilkins and what he brought to the Atlanta Hawks. 'Nique was this team. In his first 6 seasons Dominique almost singlehandedly carried his team to the playoffs 4 times, getting to the second round 3 times before being dispatched by better teams in tough grueling series. No other player (aside from Wilt) has put his team on his back better than Wilkins. I loved watchin' these guys....Doc Rivers runnin' the point and 'Nique dunkin and scorin at will...

4. 1985-1986 Maryland Terrapins - Len Bias..one the greatest college players I ever saw. This guy was awesome and thats all there is to it. No other player(well other than 'Nique) captivated me like Len Bias did. The day he passed is one the saddest days of my early teenage years.

5. 1989-1990 Detroit Pistons - These guys brought the tenacity, toughness and attitude to the court that it took to combat the fast break style that ruled the League of the day. Zeke led a working class style team with his take no prisoners attitude..Joe D used his relentless defense and smooth jumper to full advantage..Lambeer and Rodman brought the toughness and Vinnie Johnson brought the instant scoring punch that took these guys over the top..I really loved the way they played..Defense first. Drive the lane you eat the floor.

Whats the teams you guys admire most? The teams that inspired you or the teams that you just loved watching?

I don't have 5 favorite teams. However, these 2 are my favorites. I never was able to see entire games because I was too young but the footage that I have seen made me appreciate Michigan/Detroit sports teams.

I only liked two teams in my whole life:

1. 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls - The Bulls completed an amazing 1995-6 regular season by winning an NBA record 72 games. They became the first team in NBA history to reach 70 wins when they defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 86-80 on April 16th. They were my favorite team ever because it showed that working as a team (even though you have MJ) always wins championships because you know that you can play together.

2. 2001-2002 Sacramento Kings - There's no doubt about it, Northern California is definitely "Kings Country!" Following their best performance ever during the 2001-2002 season, as the Kings advanced to the brink of the NBA Championship. I liked them also because of their skill and teamwork that they put through with hardly any superstars.

My two favorite squads are:

1. The 94-95 Lakers....They were a very young team coming off their first (and only)lottery pick for the franchise and they were coached by Dell Harris (who was coach of the year that season). Their starting five was NVE, Eddie Jones, Cedric Ceballos, Elden Campbell, and Divac (4 of the 5 were drafted by the Lakers, unlike the current 03' squad which only has 1, Deaven George). Their main bench players were 6th man Sedale Threatt, Anthony Peeler, Sam Bowie, and George Lynch...Ceballos made his one and only all-star appearance with a stellar season. They won 49 games and made it to the second round only to lose to the David Robinson led spurs.

2. The 95' UCLA Bruins. With a lineup of Tyus Edney, Toby Bailey, Charles and Ed O'bannon, and George Zidek, they dominated the NCAA and brought back the old UCLA glory of the Wooden years. And although none of those guys on the squad were very good in the NBA, collectively they were nearly unbeatable at the college level...

to keep it simple, the lakers from the 80's, and the dallas cowboys from the early-mid 90's. i also really loved that 99 uconn squad that won a national championship, as well as ray allen's squad with travis knight, and of course this years. really hoping another title comes along.

the lakers 80's squad basically stayed the same.
as well as the cowboys.. only team w/ changes was uconn basketball, of course.

1.1999-2000 Indiana Pacers
The only time my Pacers have made it to the Finals in Franchise history (well being in the NBA)

That is my only real favorite all-time team. After that it would just be any Pacer team.

I like the Portland Trailblazers teams that challenged the Bulls for the title in the early 90's.

The 2001 Philly Sixers team that beat the Lakers to prevent the sweep, gotta love them.

I also like the 72 game winning Chicago Bulls, that was dominance at it's finest.

The Houston Rockets that won the title back in 95, I like them cause that's the team that earned one of my favorite players of all time, Clyde "The Glide" Drexler, a championship ring.

And lastly, the 98-99 Kings cause that's the team that got things turned around in for them and made Sacramento a desired place to play instead of the dumping grounds of the league.

These guys get forgotten when people mention past great NCAA Champs...The O'Bannon boys were great and Tyus and Toby had as much game as anyone in college..they were great to watch.

Do you remember the second round tourney game between Michigan and UCLA in '93? The one that went to overtime? It was a great game.

1. Second threepeat Bulls - the definition of modern bball dominance, the main core was the same on each of the teams from '96 to '98.

2. First threepeat Bulls - challenged more often than their successer Bulls team, they were still the most dominant team since the 60's Celtics, and eclipsed the accomplishments to the two 'powerhouses' from the 80's. Again, the core was the same on each of the teams from 91 to 93.

3. 97 Hornets - Glen Rice was playing the best bball of his career, and so was Anthony Mason. We also had a decent supporting cast including Vlade Divac, Dell Curry, Muggsy Bogues, and Tony Delk.

4. 93 Hornets - This team turned every bball fan in the Carolinas into a Hornets fan, and was the first taste of Hornets bball I ever had. When I arrived in Charlotte, they were the only thing talked about, what with Alonzo, LJ, Kendall Gill, Dell Curry, Muggsy Bogues, and the rest of the boys.

5. 98 Tarheels - Man, this was the team that was supposed to win it all, and was a huge deal back then in Charlotte. Their star player, all-American Antawn Jamison, not only was from Charlotte but was from the middle school I was attending at the time, so the whole school was all about him. School was stopped each time they had a game so we could watch on television, and we got to see him and a solid cast including Ed Cota, Shammond Williams, Brendan Haywood and a young jumping cat named Vince Carter.

My top three:
3. 1990-1991 Pistons
The Bad Boys were the coolest thing. I definitely didn't like some things they said off the court, but what they did on the court (when they weren't elbowing people's faces) was awesome.

2. 1983 Phi Slamma Jamma
Sure, they lost the most important game in the last second...but they were still so good.

1. 1985-1986 Celtics
Bird and McHale made it all happen. That was the last championship season for the Celtics...as of yet, anyway.
