Sheed to Detroit is a done deal

According to Chad Ford of ESPN.com, he has received confirmation from a very good source that Rasheed Wallace has been traded to the Pistons...still awaiting full details.

Is this enough to put them at the Western teams' level though?

Sheed, that's great news, finally him on a team where he can be used and actually win. He'd have never done that with the Hawks, although they'd need his size and offense.

I'm looking forward to the details, I'd like to see who is unlucky enough to be sent to the Hawks. Looks like it'll probably be Bob Sura or a player of that caliber. What I really like about this is that Big Ben can go back to playing Center and Sheed will share and do well with the offensive load if Billups, Prince or Hamilton play badly. I hope no more 4/20's for Hamilton, that just isn't like him, maybe Sheed's offense will rub off on him.

The Pistons will continue to become stronger in the East. Looks like another Knicks or Nets sort of thing, another big streak and well balanced team in the East coming up.

^[IMG] Probably not, but they could have a good shot against the Pacers & Nets for a place in the Finals...

They've already been a tough matchup simply becuase of Big Ben and their defensive intenstity, now they have a legit offensive weapon in the frontcourt. EVERYBODY is in trouble right now, Detroit just put made themselves the best team in the east, and they've already proven they can hold their own against the west. This deal is immeasurably huge, Dumars might have just bought himself at ticket to the finals.

I agree OG, what makes the West so dominant over the East is their supply of big men..now the Pistons have Big Ben AND Rasheed in the front court which could contend with any in the West.

Good move for Detroit. They could possibly be the best team in the Eastern Conference.

You should be scared at least until you get all your players back, which won't be happening any time soon. As I said, fear the wraith of the Pistons. [IMG] [IMG]
