What 8 players should the Sixers should/will protect?I think Billly King will have a hard time picking.Heres my list of the players I thinkthey should protect. 1.Allen Iverson 2.Kenny Thomas 3.Samuel Dalembart 4.Glenn Robinson(we can trade him) 5.Eric Snow 6.Willie Green 7.Kyle Korver 8.Aaron Mckie
I think we should keep Salmons as Mckie is declining and Salmons showed that he can shoot the ball over 12 times a game(hey, that's what we wanted) but he struggled against tall guys like Tim Thomas and Jared Jeffries, still Mckie should be unprotected instead of Salmons.
Allen Iverson Kenny Thomas Samuel Dalembert Willie Green John Salmons Kyle Korver Eric Snow Aaron McKie
I say we should protect Mckie because he is a vet,we have to have some vets.Besides he was top 5 in 3 point fg%.
i think they should protect: 1. ai(no matter what) 2. k.thomas(as above) 3. e.snow(on and off-court leader) 4. bigdog(no def. but no.2 off. and tradeable) 5. sam dalembert(if he can do what he did at and of season constantly he will soon be an allstar) 6. mckie(vet+good def.+ quite good off.) 7. marc jackson(3rd best big man in roster, good reb., def, reliable off.) 8. j. salmons(athletic sf, we need one of his kind) would let following unprotected: 1. dc(quite old, body falling apart, earns big bucks,(which dont mean he could't help sixers frontcourt)) 2. green(has shown signs of good all-around game but bobcats can likely get better guards) 3. korver(good shooter but his game is not (yet) complete->unlikely bobcats would choos him) 4. t. macculloch(will he ever play bball again?) 5. greg buckner(quit a loss if they would choose him but u can only protect 8) 6. z. hamilton(reliable bigman but its unlikely that they will take him, if he gets new contract at all) 7. a. mccaskill(as above) if u really want to find out whats best, u need to look at other teams rosters to find out who they can't protect
I have pretty much the same list as kvh4fan. Including Jackson. I wouldnt miss seeing Salmons, DC, Buckner, Todd, Hamilton and McCaskill in a Sixers uniform.
1. AI 2. Dalembert 3. willie green 4. salmons 5. snow 6. mckie 7. korver 8. kenny thomas i dont think we should protect marc jackson because as good a talent asd he is he is always injured also so is robinson we need to get rid of those players so we can rebuild plus getting rid of those two players would provide major cap room to sign good free agents
1. Kenny Thomas 2. Allen Iverson 3. Samuel Dalembert 4. Kyle Korver 5. Willie Green 6. John Salmons 7. Aaron McKie 8. Eric Snow
Willie Green Allen Iverson Kenny Thomas Samuel Dalembert Kyle Korver Glenn Robinson John Salmons Eric Snow
i'm probally gonna get alot of crap from everyone, but i dont think kyle is worth protecting. it would really surprise me to see the bobcats take him. anyway... 1 ai 2 green 3 thomas 4 dalembert 5 snow 6 jackson 7 salmons 8 lil dog...only for trade purposes (please trade him billy) also, i have reservations about protecting salmons and swaping him with mckie (even thought aaron seem to get 3 years older every offseason) but if salmons cant come out of that, dare i say, burrell-esque, shooting slump than he has no future

Aaron Mckie is not onlya shooter he is a leader espically when AI is out.He is a vet we cant have a hole team of young players.Mckie can shoot, and play D the Sixers need both,so I say protect him.
I personally want Glenn Robinson to stay. I actually think he was a good fit. If only he can play D and share the ball a little more. But aside from that. He had the most consitent J on the team. If him and Iverson were able to play a little longer with each other and have better chemistry. I think they would do real good with each other.

1 Iverson 2 Dalembert 3 Snow 4 Salmons 5 Robinson 6 Jackson 7 Thomas 8 Green Anyone who keeps Korver doesn't know what they are talking about imo. He can't play D he doesn't drive the ball all he does is put up 3's. He isn't worth keeping. An I would say he shouldn't be on the roster next year.

Although, he's just a 3Pt shooter. He's a DEADLY 3Pt shooter. There is a BIG difference from being a 3Pt shooter and a deadly accurate 3Pt shooter. His 3Pt FG% was better than his overall FG%. He actually hit more 3 Pointers than 2 Pointers. Which is something to look at. And you can deny it, if you were watching some of the Sixers games during the season...You would notice down the strech in crunch time or even in the middle of the game he would come up big with his deadly 3Pt shot. Afterall, he just a rookie and he'll develop overtime. BTW you wont need as much scoring from him if you have Allen Iverson, Aaron McKie, Glenn Robinson, Willie Green and Kenny Thomas who are clearly better scorers then him. So anything you get from him his is good enough. Sometimes that anything is usually 4-5 3Pt FG's.
