I think he and Silas have commented on at various times... where should we expect to see the most improvement from LeBron in his second year?

you've probably heard these things. Didn't they say once that defense and rebounding would be a primary focus?

I expect that LeBron will be a much improved jumpshooter next season. I've been trying to improve my jumpshot and watching instructional tapes, and they make a good point, that you can't really fix your form on the fly during a season when you're playing games every day. Because you can't be thinking about your form when you're playing a game. So your bad habits persist.

This will be LeBron's first full summer training as a pro, with pro trainers, and I think he'll break his bad habits in his shooting, mainly the fading away.

If he came back next year with a more consistent jumpshot and better defensive technique, he'd be twice the player he is already.

Her's a quote from Silas in the Lorain Morning Journal...........

Silas wants to work on James' shooting this summer. He ended his season shooting 41.7 percent from the field (622-of-1,492) and 29 percent from the 3-point line (63-of-217).

''He has a lot of play in his shot,'' Silas said. ''He brings it from left to right. We'll work on that in the offseason and he'll be a more proficient shooter and then look out.''

James has vowed to show improvement in that area...............Tank

also, his tendency to fadeway hurts him... when he goes straight up he makes a very high percentage of his shots, but he has a habit of doing fadeaways sometimes the way jordan did in his more advanced years, and lebron misses those... although the last few weeks of the season he was getting better at making those shots too

really he's improved his shot a lot since the beginning of the season, just has to work out the kinks and couple bad habits and he'll be fine. he's proved he can already make the most difficult shots at the most crucial points of the game, now he just needs consistency

he'll work on defense for sure, rebounding i dont know, maybe, he's already quite good at it even as a guard, oh and he'll have to work on his ballhandling... his passing ability is already unbelievable

what i love about lebron is, most rookies, in fact nearly all, would be completely satisfied to have the rookie season he had, and be confident they will repeat next year with ease, and party the entire offseason, and report to training camp late, out of shape, and out of practice... not lebron, he recognizes even though his rookie year was phenomenal, it's only the first step and he's willing to work to become a truly great player

If he really wants to learn how to do a Fade-A-Way shot he should talk to my boy Sheed..

Rasheed has the best Fade-A-Way in the NBA..

Improving his shooting and defense should be a natural progression. If he works at it hard, he'll rid himself of those bad shooting habits and we have one hell of a complete player. Lets hope the players around him look to improve their game.

Boozer : Defensive awareness, post play.
Ilgauskas : Ball handling, pick and roll defense
McInnis : Keep working on that shot
Newble : Travel to Atlanta, and pick up that jumper you left there
Battie : Take care of those knees
Ollie : Pushing the ball, shooting
    Brown : Ball handling, confidense
    Diop : Everything
Wagner : Defense, offensive awareness, left hand handles
Kapono : Steal someones quickness, defense.

For all the thing that are happening for him on and off the court, he still is quite modest. The fact he comes out publicly and states that he still has some work to do, gives me confidense that he can with the front offices help finally bring some BBall glory to this town. I hope this work ethic rubs off on our other key players.

I hope he knows he's got to work, but yes he said himself he wants to work on his shooting and quickness, he wants to become on of the league's best defenders.

Not Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, these guys are also extremely hard workers. I heard Melo and Hinrich work very hard too, their's a real good rookie core this year they all want to achive more and improve.

How many people want to see a different dunk from LeBron next year? I know it's not important, but since he is now a "showstopper" it would be nice to see some variety in his punches.

    Agreed, Infante.

How about a Larry Nance all- star game dunk tribute? I think it was called "skywalker" when he palmed the ball and with one hand windmilled away from himself and back toward the rim as he jumped from block to block.
It looked like Nance was bitchslapping (Can I say this?) the rim. JR Giddens did this in Cleve at HS dunk contest. Bron could better that dunk and the Cleveland crowd would love the acknowledgment.

LeBron's dunks thru traffic are my favorites (behind the back and up against the Hawks, the crowd- pleaser at MS Garden) just because they show off his athleticism and court vision. However those fast break dunks need some creativity. The kid gets high. He needs his own signature dunk before he leaves the game.

More than the dunk LeBron needs to take and make set jumpers, those fadeaways are unneccessary ~ half the time.

More than that LeBron will likely show improvement in his d game, especially man to man.

I too agree, his shot. But I feel for them to become real contenders, apart from his teammates improving and getting some good people in tradeoffs, is that he should work on defense. Not particularly one on one but team and zone defense, he works too hard and needs to learn to rely on others. He has so much energy that he should reserve it for speed. He also needs to relax more, sometimes he seems a bit too tense that foul trouble comes his way, very rarely though. He's too smart for foul trouble.

Yeah I know. He basically does two major dunks routinely. The tomahowk and the one where jams the ball on the reverse with two hands.

He also have to improve his jumpshot and maybe a lil bit of post play.

LeBron just needs to learn when to attack the basket and be a little greedy. He can take anyone to the hole he wants, he has to know that. When other teams make a run he has got to at the very least try and draw some contact to get to the line. There is not excuse for him to not shoot close to 10 freethrows a game when he is in his prime.

His shooting and defence. IF Lebron works hard on his defence this summer I don't see why he can't be one of the best in the NBA. He has the atheleticism to dominate guards and fowards easily. His shooting is average at best so any improvement would make him more effective this year.

I wouldn't mind seeing more creative dunks from him either. Yah, you know what? Forget the fundementals, just work on your dunking. You need a better repetoire of dunks. Thats it for the summer.

James does not need better dunks, he does not care about stuff like that. We know he can do different things but this is just being silly. We have those guys who try and do too much (Ricky Davis) and they often times miss.

Just throw it down hard Bron. He reminds me so much of Barkley because no one was faster with the ball from basket to basket, plus Chuck did not do many different dunks either, just always crushed it hard with 2 hands.

LeBron would be wasting his time to practice new dunks. Anyway I hope he improves his 3s all little more. He would definitly stretch out other teams defences by being able to do that.

I was playing KJ. Don't take that comment too seriously.
