<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Why is everyone thinking Rafer will back up Alvin? Despite Alvin Williams's health problems and his mediocre play last season, he is still our leader and gives his all while on the court. Rafer, meanwhile, is turnover-prone and can be a bit over-flashy at times. So what if he shot a good percentage from three-point range? He didn't manage to shoot over 40% overall. Is that better than Alvin Williams, who is consistent and reliable?</div>

Skip isn't turnover-prone. He's got one of the best assist to turnover ratios in the league. Who cares if he's a little flashy at times. He doesnt lose the ball as much as most players. Skip isn't going to be a scorer anyway. He's a solid pg who sees the floor well. Alvin only shot .405 so its not like he's much better than Skip, and Alvin shoots a lot too. Skip will start this season.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting '[:</div><div class="quote_post">D[][]V[][]D']Fisher was the best point guard available...not hudson....

    Fisher is " mr. clutch"</div>
Fisher is another overatted player because he's been in a good situation and on a championship team, he's not a big playmaker, just a guy that can shoot, play good defense but not well against very quick guys, and has average passing skills, he was definately not the best one there.

    THANK YOU! Rafer's back [IMG]:D

i dunno why you guys say hes turonb over prone, when he isn't3. and for thsoe who are disappoitned for not signing Hudson, there was never a high probability of Hudson signing with us(as thefranchise3 said)

Now..what number will he wear 11, or 12? I know he only wore 12 when he was signed for the end of the season 2 years ago because somebody was wearing #11. so will it probably be 11?

So whos going to start Rafer or Alvin? I don't know if Rafer would sign in to become a backup for Alvin. Like a 4.2 million dollar backup, thats a lot of money. Maybe an Alvin Trade is coming?

Who ever said Rafer Alston is turnover prone is wrong. He only averaged 1.56 TOPG last year in over 31 MPG. He had one of the best Assist to Turnover ratio in the league, being 10th in the league in that category. Alvin Williams was 14th, so we have 2 pretty good above average ball handlers in the NBA.

This is a good signing for us, all we need to do is get a good PF, if Mo pete leaves, and we wont be that bad.

wait.. you mean a good PF/C? and I think it'll be beneficial for us if Mo Pete stays because as of now, after the signing of Rafer Alston, the Raptors are out of cap room, and Mo can still sign with the Raps because he's a restricted free agent.

Well, i meant good PF, but if we can get a PF/C that wouldnt be bad either, who will be fighting for the C position this season ? Arajouo ? Sawe ? who else ... ?

We can give Mo Pete as much money as he wants. We can give him a 3 year 30 Million dollar deal, because we have his Bird Rights, but anything over 3 Million is overpaying. 3 Million is even overpaying him. 2-2.5 Million is reasonable. Or maybe we should let him go and get Richie Frahm for $50 and a bucket of KFC.

    Rafer Madness hits Toronto:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.?He dazzled fans in Toronto two years ago with his infectious, up-tempo style of play.

His climb from the playgrounds of Harlem to the NBA was a story that everyone could love.

Now Rafer Alston is coming back.

The Raptors will sign the 6-foot-2 point guard July 14, as soon as NBA rules permit, taking care of one major task that was facing new general manager Rob Babcock.

<u>An initial report said Alston would make $29 million (all figures U.S.) over six years, a shocking deal for a 27-year-old who has never been a consistent NBA starter, but league sources said yesterday the entire length of the contract is not guaranteed and the money won't approach $29 million. </u>

<u>There could be team or player options covering the final one or two seasons and if the money works out to about $26 million, as one source suggested, it would start at about $3.5 million next season</u>. </div>

I am definitely getting his jersey when it comes out....

As long as the money and contract aren't as long as proposed, I'm happy, I would get his jersey, but I still haven't gotten Livingston, Arenas, Brand and Maggette, and those have priority over his [IMG]

Why wait till it comes out? You can just customize a jersey with whatever name you want if you order on NBA.com

^I'm really not into buying stuff off of the internet. I just wait for my jersey guy to get it in his store.
