A week later and Vince Carter still wants out of Toronto.

ESPN's David Aldridge reported Wednesday that a league source close to the situation says Carter is still seeking a trade, in part because Carter was promised a say in management decisions after last season and feels the team has reneged on that promise.

The strife stems from a meeting Carter apparently had with senior members of the Raptors organization and of the team's parent company, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, at the end of the regular season. According to the source, Carter was told at that meeting that he would be part of the franchise's search for a new general manager and coach, but Carter was not consulted before the team hired Rob Babcock to be its GM. Babcock then hired Sam Mitchell in late June to be the team's head coach.

there is a principle to all this wacky sports journalism of late, its called sensationalism. the need to sell papers, get hits on your website or rating motivates these pseudo journalists to disseminate these stories of half truths. if i was an editor i wouldn't permit a story to be published unless it had 3 corroborating sources. nonetheless, i don?t think vince wants to be here and from a purely basketball perspective the raptors in my opinion need to trade him for depth. vince+donyell for= watson+ wells+swift

Trade him ? no team will accept the trade becuz of his enourmous contract, until we can get the players back that equal Vinces talent. Do not trade him.

Man this whole thing is getting plain confusing. All these reports from the Globe and Mail, ESPN, Peter Vecey are contradicting each other. For goodness sakes Vince just come out and say something so we can just get this over with. If he wants a trade then trade him and get something good in return.

The media says he wants out of Toronto, but Vince never says he wants to himself. Hilarious and stupid. These dudes probably have nothing to talk about, so they have to create a controversy in order for them to maintain their job and not fired.

This isn't anything new, another journalist wrote this, but just said it was the actual reason Vince wanted out, not the draft pick thing, but he never said Vince still demanded a trade, just said this was the reason for him not being pleased.

How about we just don't post these kinds of "articles" anymore? This is what.. the third or fourth thread mentioning that David Aldridge POS report and it's not getting us anywhere. Before Vince actually comes out and says he wants to be traded, these reports are nothing but useless junks that take up space on the web.

Well Vince isn't saying a damn thing whether he's staying or wants to get traded.... so he might be letting the media talk for him.... cuz if he wanted to stay... he would of talked to the media and told them that he wants to stay

When did i say he was overpaid ? I said no team will accept the trade becuase of his huge contract. With all these teams spending that much money, means less teams to trade Vince for. I dunt get what youre saying .. [IMG]

i love what cwebb said recently, " they traded wilt chamberlin, anyone can be traded". vince can be easily traded, there at least 4 trade proposals on this forum matching salary for salary.

The exact opposite holds true because if you look at Shaq and McGrady you know what I mean

    Tanenbaum to speak with Carter:

Quote:

Larry Tanenbaum, the minority owner of the Toronto Raptors, said he will try to take the necessary steps to ease the troubled mind of team star Vince Carter.
"I'll do what I have to do, or should do or want to do," Tanenbaum said yesterday in a telephone interview from his Lake Simcoe cottage north of Toronto. "It's important for Vince to come back with a very up attitude. I just saw him happy as can be. I just want to keep that going."

Tanenbaum attended the 27-year-old star's wedding to Ellen Rucker in Palm Beach, Fla., last weekend.

He said he shied away from discussing the business of basketball with his star asset, and that Carter appeared at ease whenever he had the opportunity to speak with him. He said Carter displayed none of the angst he has been reportedly experiencing toward his employer.

I hope this soap opera ends soon.

Um right... Vince too immature... McGrady holds the crown in that category.

Rumors rumors rumors, I hope it is... that article calmed me down abit.

it's always fans and media that blow up the proportion of ANY kind of controversy.
