I saw it on the BottomLine. Big Big Big loss for the Cavs. He's unreplacable in this FA Market. Though he cashses in Big, the Cavs must be devastated. Looks like all the "signings" are happening before July 14th.

Wow, that is a big signing, although I don't see the Jazz getting Boozer. There is no way Cleveland would let Boozer go. Btw, if Booze is signed, would that mean the end of the space on the Jazz's salary cap?

No, the Cavs are over the cap and don't have his bird rights. Which means unless they trade Big Z to clear cap space, they don't have a chance to match the offer.

This is basically like Gilbert Arenas and Golden State last summer.

The Jazz could of had Boozer if they'd drafted him back in 2002 like they originally planned instead of Borchardt. Now they may have him, but he's come at a far bigger price. The Jazz may have added Mehmet Okur and Carlos Boozer and have re-signed Arroyo and Giricek. The young team is starting to take shape, and may be headed for the playoffs this season. This sets the Cavs back a lot, but Utah benefits greatly.

No they still have some money left after Boozer is signed. The Cavs cannot match the offer because they're over the cap and can't match anything over the mid-level, and that offer is well over the mid-level. The Cavs tried to re-sign him as an "Early Bird" free agent, which would have allowed them to start him at the average player salary. They do not have his Bird Rights because he only spent 2 seasons with them.

The Cavs are idiots for not keeping Boozer. Looks to me that now the Jazz are shaping up to be a great team. AK at SF, Boozer at PF, Okur at Center? Is that how it will be if they get Boozer? And plus, they just signed Arroyo back and they had a very nice draft grabbing Humphries and Snyder.

Things seem to be looking up for the Jazz after missing the playoffs last season.

The Cavs only have 4 mil remaining in their cap. They better say bye bye to Boozer.

Memo at C, Boozer at PF and AK47 at SF.

I don't even have to say anything after that. [IMG]

Only problem is Memo and Boozer are poor defenders and I have to wonder how they will guard the top big's of the western conference. Sloan has to get them to play into his defensive system.

Yeah I agree. But Boozer has the making of a KMart in terms of his defense because they have the same built. If only he'll put his mind into it he'll be a good post defender. Plus you always have AK47.

Man my boy syxx just gave me the link because I never really go here. I can't believe it, I was just talking about the Cavs being on an uprise with the big 3. And the Cavs got nothing in return right? OMG, I didn't even think Boozer would be on another team.

Boozer isn't nearly as athletic and explosive as K-Mart on the defensive end. K-Mart is a much better defender. He might be a overated defender to people, but none the less, he's still a very good one, of the best among PF's you'll find in the league.

I do agree that KMart is one of the best PF in the league. [IMG]. But what I said was Boozer has the capability of being a KMart type of defender because they basically have the same built. If only he'll put his mind and body into it. So basically I said that he's nowhere near the defensive capabilities of KMart but he has the potential to be one.

Well if Boozer stays at PF and have trouble guarding his man, can't him and AK switch it up on defense since AK is capable of being a PF? I mean it just makes sense. AK is an outstanding defensive player and he's got size so him and Boozer can switch it up on defense. It would make a lot more sense and it would be more effective I think.

But this could be one of the best SF/PF combinations in the league. I mean you have Marion and Amare, Jefferson and Kmart, etc. This could be one of the best. I really think that them 2 could really cause some problems to other teams. I think this team, if the Cavs are unable to grab Boozer, could be a team to make it to the playoffs.

Great signing by Utah, I was completely shocked...This backfired on Cleveland big time...great move by Utah, their frontline is gonna be sick...and who said Boozer wasnt a good defender?? the man is a workhorse on defense and among the best rebounders in the league...

    Here's the Link

If Cleveland can make some trades, and clear some cap space they can retain Boozer. It will be hard, and they will almost have to trade Z who has a huge contract. The chances are that Boozer will end up in Utah next season, giving Utah an impressive lineup with a good bench.

Boozer really screwed the Cavs on this one. They opted out of his weak contract so they could give him a more respectable salary. So what does he go and do? He goes and signs with another team. The Cavs were trying to do the right thing, they could have just kept him under his previous contract for another year, but they try to give him a much deserved hike in pay, and he screws them over. From what I understand, he had a verbal agreement with the Cavs on an extension. It's amazing how much money can change things.

If Boozer leaves this would be a catastrophy for the cavaliers he's the backbone of there team, Lebron and him are practically everything of the cavs. Boozer shouldnt leave but if he does he's wouldnt be one of my favorite players anymore. Boozer should stay in Cleveland and this way the cavs have a good excuse to get rid of Big Z.

I like this move for the Jazz, anyone saying that Carlos did the wrong thing for leaving the Cavs, wouldn't you leave for 68 millions dollars, I know I would. I'm just glad the Jazz got off of their pocketbooks and spent some money on a good player.

    Go Jazz!
