There has been a lot of movement and a lot of rumors this offseason. We have seen some huge names being tossed around in trade rumors. Tracy McGrady, maybe the most talented player in the NBA, was even traded. Everyone is wondering if the Lakers are going to fall apart. Phil is out, Shaq wants out, Malone could retire, and Bryant is testing the FA market. Free Agents are signing ridiculous contracts that have many in awe. Brian Cardinal for 39 mil?! This offseason is still young but it has already been great for the NBA.
I agree, and when I saw Brian Cardinal get that much that is what my face looked liek...the smiley you posted...Great for the NBA, and even better for the fans
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting J-MAC:</div><div class="quote_post">IMO Foyle's contract is worse</div>Foyle signed for 41 mil over 5 years with an option for the 6th year. Cardinal signed a 6 year deal worth 39 mil. Foyle is getting 8.2 mil/year for a starting role. He will be the Warriors starting Center in a league dominated by big men. He will have to play heavy minutes due to the Warriors lack of depth at the Center position and a lot of the Warriors success will depend on how well Foyle plays. Cardinal is getting paid almost 8 mil/year to come off the bench. The Grizz are already stacked at the sg/sf positions. Cardinal's role is to be the spark off the bench. How is foyle's contract worse?
What about Vince Carter? I heard he wanted to be traded after the coaching trouble (or management or whatever).
So far there have been some big moves in the offseason. There are plenty of rumours and negotations also. When FA's change teams, it makes the next season more interesting and people want to watch it more. An active offseason will benefit the NBA, because the fans will pay more attention. But issues such as the Carlos Boozer one make NBA players look as if they're only interested in the money.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:</div><div class="quote_post">...Great for the NBA, and even better for the fans</div> I'd say it's even better for this year's free agents because of the ridiculous money GMs are throwing at them haha
Technically, it's only been 11 days into the offseason and there have been a ton of deals done. Almost all of the higher-priced players have been nabbed and only a few teams left with a ton of cap space. You can tell that the GM's are working hard to try to put together their teams next year, but I think there's been a pretty clear case of the rich getting richer, except for poor L.A. who could be in for the biggest shakeup in their teams' history.
this off season has been AMAZING. it is so active that almost every big name team is being shaken up. There are teams in the process(beginning, middle) of rebuilding, and t hose whoa re startring over. I can't wati till next season

Also, if I were you, I wouldn't say Cardinal is overpaid. He might even be going back to Golden State with that contract for Dampier. We'll see who laughs then.
This offseason has been a very interesting one thus far. Starts off with the TMac trade, huge blockbuster deal right there. Than continues on to see players like Foyle and Cardinal getting huge deals. Apparently KMart is getting offered a ton of money that most people here don't believe he's worth. Shaq is in the midst of getting traded the Heat for Odom, Butler, and Grant. Kobe's future with the Lakers is still to be determined. The Lakers hire a new coach in Rudy T and pursued Coach K and Roy Williams. So far, this has been one of the most interesting offseasons in my recent memory, and the great thing is, it has just begun.
