<div class="quote_poster">Quoting johnny33:</div><div class="quote_post">wallace doesn't play D.</div> He's being considered to become a stopper for the team, I'm pretty sure he plays some D.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SanQuinn:</div><div class="quote_post">Gerald Wallace is a Knocka! He can only dunk! One dimensional BABAY!!! Just like Ricky DickyDavis, and Freddy Adu Jones, and Vince Hasbeen Carter. Not J-Rich you haters! He is 3D BABAY!!!!!</div> Yea Vince Carter is 16th all time in PPG because he can only dunk....
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting johnny33:</div><div class="quote_post">wallace doesn't play D.</div> Well, if you would have been paying attention to summer leagues, you would see how the Bobcats have been raving about how Wallace hustles after every loose ball and how he has really improved his defense. I can see Gerald being a likely candidate for most improved player. He's determined to be a star. He has all the tools to become one. It all factors into his determination and work ethic. At one point in time, Wallace was considered to be the best high school player in the country. Note to people criticizing Gerald for his jump shot, he shot 56.9 percent from the field along with being the team's leading scorer during the Minnesota summer league

I also think Wallace is going to breakout this season, he really stepped his game up, and he is much better at defense which was the only thing that sort of worried me at first. Plus, hopefully he might be a good canidate for MIP next season, but only time will tell.
wallace's shot will only improve cause with an expansion team he's going to get his attempts, lots of them especially with their offensively inept roster. however, okafur's back worries me, back problems just don't disappear, they persist.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">He's being considered to become a stopper for the team, I'm pretty sure he plays some D.</div> I seem to remember him not being able to stop the Taiwanese guy Sacto brought in for training camp a couple seasons ago... Maybe he's improved since, dunno.. I never saw him take his warmups off.
Okafor will be fine...his back problems are over...nobody is going to beat him up in the paint like they did in college unless he becomes that good
Wallace has always showed potential and promise in Sacramento, but he just didnt get the minutes,he is very athletic and he brings a lot of momentum to games,if he gets a consistant J then I think he could be a future star in the NBA.All he needs is playing time and he will have the oppurtunity to show people what he can do once the season starts.
IMO, Wallace was just drafted by the wrong team. Being with the Bobcats gives him a fresh start and his style of play seems to fit the kind of team that Charlotte is trying to build. If he starts and gets the minutes, he could easily average double figures in points. But getting only 9 mpg in Sacramento surely didn't make him look like anything special.
potential +++++++++++++++++++++++ I believe Walace has alot of potential. I mean any guy that pspends that much time in the gym trying to work on his game airwise and floorwise gets support from me. I watch Wallace in one of the summer leagues games that he played in and his hot is looking really decent. A tad bit slower release than i would expect needed for the L but decent. <u><font size="4">Now as for Wallace being a star i think he has a very good chance if he keeps up his work ethic and stays focused on the game and not the money/goldiggers/ and etc. that seems to flock to star caliber players.</font></u>
Here's my predictions for the starting lineup/averages.. C- Predrag 10.3 ppg, 8.1 rpg PF- Okafor 16.7 ppg, 9.2 rpg (ROOKIE OF THE YEAR) SF- Marcus Fizer 8.9 ppg 5.4 rpg SG- Gerald Wallace 15.0 ppg 4.9 rpg (MOST IMPROVED) PG- JR Bremer 9.2 ppg 5.4 apg I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that the Bobcats MIGHT make a playoff spot, not a big chance, but a possibility, if Okafor stays healthy.
Well i would love for them to make the playoffs, but that will be unlikely for the first year...they have a talented group, just that they are still too naive and dont know how to work together as well, i predict being 12th in the eastern conference with at least 25 wins
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting r4shox01:</div><div class="quote_post">...beast! The guy is young and athletic, shows no fear. Hopefully, he will develop a good perimeter game to complement his athleticism, making him a hot comodety when he becomes a free agent.</div> Yeah he is gona be very talented the few times he actually got playing time in sac town he performed great. The kings just had to much depth to fit him in the lineup. He will also be a good entry in the dunk contest for the bobcats. I see him being a j-rich type player very talented. His defense will improve he is still young and no one plays really good defense when they are young unless there over 6'10. He has great hops and a decent shot he can improve on future all star imo if he works hard.
gerald wallace will probbably be a great player in a couple of years and he and okafor will probably dominate in a few years
