According to a handful of sources, Ray Allen of the Seattle SuperSonics is letting it be known he would welcome a trade to T.O. if the teams can work out some sort of deal.

ray allen would be a perfect compliment to coach mithcell's system. however, believe it or not i think vince is a better player and tougher. plus, he's just as injury prone, older and his contract expires next season which means the organization will be placed in a precarious situation. do they offer him max. dollars which he will demand or do they let him walk?

I see it as a win-win trade for both sides. Seattle gets a supposed superstar, someone who can fill their seats and Toronto gets fair value for a whiney baby.....oops I meant Carter.

I mean when was the last time someone with Ray Allen's talent actually want to come to Toronto? Him or Peja is as good as it gets for Vince's value. We will not find anyone better talented to fill the role that Vince leaves via trade or free agency. This also gives the Raptors room to make moves next year in the FA market. I mean if people are willing to take Utah's money this season, why not Toronto's next season?

Believe it or not I actually think Ray Allen drives to the basket more than Vince as well!

Ya, I think Ray Allen for Vince is fair. Do their salaries match? Because maybe we can throw in another player for Jerome James. Hes a big body that can bang.

Im with courtvision on this one, it would be a good deal but I'd rather have Ray Allen on the raptors than Peja or Vince.

I agree. I would love to see this trade go down. New starts for both players but VC is somewhat of a risk cuz he could blow up again next year but im sure ppl say that about Ray Allen as well.
they r both somewhat injury prone but Ray is a better pure shooter and YES, he does drive to the basket more often then VC does.....

i'd do it, only if Seatlle would be willing to send Radmonovich aswell. A Vince for Ray trade I would oppose because Ray is 2 years older and his contract is up after this season. Also he would be wanting Jalen Rose type money and atleast 4+ yrs. How about a Vince,Alvin, & Donyell for Ray,Potapenko, & Radmonovich?

It all depends on Vince whether or not this trade goes down. He has stated that New York is where he wants to be. I don't really know if Seattle likes that fact.

Whoa i cant believe what im hearing... Vince considered about equal with ray allen? WITHOUT QUESTION VINCE CARTER DRIVES WAY MORE, ray allen may be a better 3 point shooter... but is that what raptors need? not really... also VC can fill seats with his athleticism and is not as injury prone as ray allen.. vince carter only had one season where he was injurred severely... other than that where does this injury prone sh*t come from? Before that season he played almost every game every season.. and this year he wouldve been well the whole season except for that bowen crap.. that happened to me before and its not cuz hes "soft" why he ddnt come back earlier.. Every game vince missed the raptors lost.. which was 9 or something... Vince for ray allen is stupid on the part of the raptors.. no matter how u look at it

i dunno the Raps are in a hard spot with Vince wanting out. I agree Vince is a better player, but Ray got game, besides, its better than the garbage deal we could all imagine that would go down with the Knicks.
..And about loyalty, Ray Ray's is unquestionable

ugh...terrible deal, seattle win BIG with this one

id rather have both donyell and alvin then potapenko or radmanovich

on subject, i like the trade. ray ray is doin the same thing as vine, not playing ball...spending the summer strength training and conditioning. he should have a healthy season.

if vince doesnt want to be here, then let him go...getting someone of ray's calibre in return is about as good as its gonna get.

and am i missing something here? has vince gone public with his desire to trade, or are we still going on the word of the article from new york with his agent? maybe im being a little optimistic, but im sitll waiting for the words from vince's mouth himself before i give up hope

I'd take that Radmonovic trade, Potapenko is what Araujo can be in the future, Radmonovic can produce the same numbers Rashard Lewis was if he's a starter, and Ray Allen might not be better than Carter, but he's right there or a little behind, though he's a little older, and could be giving us a Carlos Boozer promise [IMG]

Ahh, I don't know about that, but Ray Allen has always been in a high powered offensive team, from Milwaukee to Seattle, so he'll get the offensvie numbers, but I'd like Ray, I'd prefer Maggette or Marion, but Phoenix doens't need a SG/SF, and their's been nothing about talks with LAC.

We already got a complete team so why modify it if it's not broke? Vince supposedly said he wants to be traded but he never meant it. If he did, he would of come out in public and asked for a trade.

If I were looking for a deal to trade Carter, this would be the one I want. Ray Allen is a very good offensive player, who would a be a great fit in the offensive system of Mitchell. Also his contract comes off the books at the end of the season, thought it's not like we're going to sign anyone with the cap space. Like og15, I would prefer someone like Marion, but Ray Allen is up there and has finicial benefits, where as Maggette and Marion have long term contracts.

agree wi?th most of you. If Vince wouldnt wanne go, i wouldnt let him. THeyre both pretty effective playrs, altho ray seems to have a bit more of efficiency. I actually believe Vince wants out. He hasnt won one championship yet has he? A quality player and superstar like him would want that. But i dont know if ny or seattl would help him with that.

Allen's one of my fav players, but I'd be hesitant to do this trade b/c I don't think we're suited to be a jump shooting team. Carter's better at attacking the bucket and drawing attention, I'd rather have a player like that. I know he has a tendency to settle for the jumper as oppose to attacking, but he's still capable of doing it better.

I don't think we should be a jump shooting team because we'd also need to be a strong rebounding team as well, something we are definitely not. We already have more than enough perimeter shooters, we need players who can attack and create for others.

If it's a straight up trade for VC and Allen, I wouldn't do it. Then again I doubt it will only be an 2 player trade. If we can workout a deal that would also bring one of their bigs then I'd probably do it. I wouldn't mind that Potapenko deal that someone else mentioned.

just cause he comes wouldnt mean well turn out to be a jump shooting team. But we could improve our team in jshooting by getting him.
