Fiction. They've already spent a lot money this offseason and they have good enough PGs in Bell and Arroyo.

Fact or Fiction: Kirilenko makes the allstar game again. (in '04-'05)

Fiction. The West now has Tracy McGrady, Jamal Magloire, a healthy Chris Webber and an even better Zach Randolph, not to mention Kirilenko's teammate Carlos Boozer, to take the All-Star berth away from Andrei.

F/F: The Jazz will disappoint largely next season with Okur and Boozer preforming sub-par.

Fiction: Okur and Boozer will fit into the Jerry Sloan System and the team will flourish into the playoffs.

F/F: Kris Humphries will be better than Carlos Boozer in the long run.

Fiction: Boozer averaged a double double last season, and so far we haven't seen anything from Humphries. Boozer will only get better, and Humphries will have a lot of work to do. It will be hard for Humphries, but not impossible.

F/F: Kirk Snyder can play PG in the NBA?

Depends, Tracy McGrady can play the Point in the NBA, but he didn't improve much from playing there. I'm gonna have to say Fiction on that one.

Fact or Fiction: Kirk Snyder starts over Matt Harpring for over 40 Games

Fiction, I feel that Harpring won't have any serious injurys like last year.

F/F: Jazz will get better then 6th place in the West.

Fiction: They can, but the West is loaded and I expect them to just get in the playoffs.

F/F: AK47 will be an MVP someday.

Fiction: Not in Utah, they have Giricek who has just been signed to a 4 year deal, and Raja Bell who will be getting more minutes than him. Minutes will be hard to come by, although having competition may push him to be a better player.

F/F: If Curtis Borchardt plays 82 games in the upcoming season, he'd average at least 4 points and 4 rebounds a game off the bench?

    NOTE:

After a discussion between the JBB moderators and administrators, we have decided to keep these 'fact or fiction' threads, as they are a handy way to discuss the team during the offseason in a light-hearted manner. Please make sure they stay on topic though, any off topic posts will be deleted immediately. In other words, if you don't want to talk about the team in question, don't post. Thanks and happy discussing!

    Regards,

Fact: Borch has all ready showed that he can score some and 4 rebounds should be easy to come about if he gets adaquate minutes.

F/F: No one on this team will make the Hall of Fame.

Fiction: The Jazz will not make it to the Conference Finals, but they will make it in time.

F/F: The Jazz will finally beat the Spurs atleast once.

Fiction: Tim Duncan will continue to give the Jazz nightmares, Boozer is no exception.

F/F: Andrei Kirilenko will lead the NBA in either BPG or SPG this season?

WTF? False. AI and Marion will both be ahead of AK in steals. And Shaq or Big Ben will lead in blocks.

Fact or Fiction: Boozer will have decrease points and rebounds this year.

Fiction: In the Jazz system Boozer will get enough touches to average at least 16 points a game. The Jazz also play tough enough defense that Boozer will have many opportunities to pad his rebounding stats. Plus he needs the numbers to justify his contract.

Fact or Fiction: The Jazz made a huge mistake leaving Sasha Pavlovic unprotected in the expansion draft.

Fiction: Sasha will develop nicely but with Sasha gone, the Jazz pick Kirk Synder who will be better than Sasha.

F/F: No one in our lifetime will break John Stockton's assist record.

Fact: It's is extremely rare for someone to play as long as Stockton, and he was still a good PG in his final season. He was 1st in the NBA in Assists per 48 minutes in his final season. He played a lot of seasons, and they were all good ones. I doubt anyone can play long enough to beat that record. Although there's guys who will contend for it we've probably never heard of.

F/F: Matt Harpring will be traded this season?
