I imagine he will retire as a Cowboy following one of those 1-day contracts, but I don't know if he is done yet or not. It depends on how he feels about not being a starter. I think his starting days are done, but I'd take him at a low price as a backup on my team yet.

I wish he would play just long enough for Roy Williams to break his other shoulder, then retire a Cowboy. I'm still smarting from the diamond among a bunch of trash remark he made a year or two ago. His time has come and gone but he seems determined to be carted of the field with a career ending injury rather than go out with class and dignity. Rumor has it that his retirement could be as early as this week. Heres hoping that he makes the right decision and rides off into the sunset like a real Cowboy hero should. Later.....

yeah i love the cowboys...but why so sore on the issue??? i mean emmitt can still play! and he played a lot better than Eddie did this year...so he broke his shoulder? but he is not going to keep playing like he did earlier in his career...i mean nothing to prove...
as for coming back to dallas...if the 'boys let go of eddie and sign emmitt...id be so happy...

one of the main reasons he didnt retire 2 yrs ago is cuz he still wanted to play, and the cowboys didnt resign him...and i bet it was more of a parcells thing to do that...

i think emmitt can still play...he could be a backup and in parcells system he works...as for the rotating the backs...

bah my thinking at least...one more yr..in dallas? that would be awesome...

It wasn't the shoulder....I think Tuna was referring to the "diamond surrounded by trash" type comments that Emmitt made after he left Dallas, which irritated me as well. It still kind of bugs me, but I understand that he apologized and was just still angry about not being resigned.

Dallas doesn't need him in the backfield anymore....and now that he is retired, it doesn't matter anyway.
