<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Knicks president Isiah Thomas flew to his hometown of Chicago yesterday to bring back another athletic piece for the club's ever-changing puzzle.
According to his agent, 6-9 free agent swingman Eddie Robinson agreed to terms yesterday with the Knicks on a one-year deal, pending his physical this morning.

Robinson is expected to sign today in New York and be in uniform tonight when the Knicks host the Clippers at the Garden to conclude a dizzying week of events. </div>

<font color="DarkRed"> My old comments:</font>(This is what I said in the old Eddie Robinson thread: "Understand that I am all for acquiring front court help. But I don't think that Robinson would provide us with much more than a stiff who has wasted his potential. He's not my type of player, there's no reason to throw him on the team. He can't really help us at all.
I mean, he's not the worst player, but his game provides more damage to his team than good.

If Isiah opened his eyes and realized that players have to have brains to be successful, not just 'talent'.

Isiah is/has been blinded by this wall of the term: 'upside'. He doesn't consider the bad elements such as....stupidity.(*cough* Tim Thomas and Nazr Mohhamed*cough*).
Don't even think about it, Isiah. Or the New York crowd will really give it to you, and I'll be right there with 'em." )

Sadly, I have to stand by it. This sucks. [IMG]

Maybe Robinson just needed a change of scenary. He's supposed to play today vs LAC so we'll have to wait untill then. I did want him to get Glenn Robinson if he was getting waived.

Well I think that if, Eddie Robinson puts the effort in on defense like he did in Charlotte. And his early Bulls days, then I think he can help this team, because the Knicks are a very poor perimeter defensive team. And honestly they got worst with Shandon Anderson getting waived, cause that was the one thing he did halfway decent. But if Eddie Robinson can give them some perimeter defensive help then its a plus. If not then all Isiah did was add another subpar wing player to create a logjam. Isiah Thomas is adding alot of similar players that already play the same position. If Robinson isnt going to be great on D, I dont see how he will contribute more then Tim Thomas & Trevor Ariza.

Eddie Robinson is definitely an upgrade over Tim Thomas but wont this leech minutes away from our rookie sensation Trevor Ariza? Eddie should start but not get significant minutes unless either TT or Ariza are unable to play. This is a good signing IMO because its only a 1 year deal and this will be a better team with Eddie Robinson, well atleast a better SF.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand he might be an upgrade over thomas but on the other hand like Buckets said he might take minutes away from Ariza

i think isiah is a firm believer in competition, hoping for improved play at the guard and small forward sports. also, he might be admitting to us by this signing that the knick franchise believes allan houston is more hurt than what we have been led to believe.

I'd be suprised if Houston came back this season. I dont really like him any hes soft and the knicks wouldve been better off keeping sprewell over houston .... well maybe not but now we'll never know.

I think you're pushing it a bit. TT might be incoinsistant and the whole works but he isn't as bad as Robinson
