Reggie and Larry are class acts, thats why there so well respected in the league because of the people they are. Artest is just making mistake over mistake, hopefully he realises he is and stops doing it. BTW does anyone got the video, and is it on ESPN motion?

That was ridculous the Detroit fans hould be ashamed of themselves i had never seen something like that in my life. Honestly i beliieve suspensions shouldnt be given down to anyone EXCEPT maybe Ben Wallace for over reacting. The Pacers had the right to throw punches they were only doing that in self defense but a CRIMNAL INVESTIGATION should definatly go down for sure.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheMegaGreg:</div><div class="quote_post">This was probably the most amazing display of anger I have ever seen. Ron Artest will be suspended for more then a game, try 10-20. Artest took it to another level by jumping into the stands. He broke that universal rule, that you NEVER hit a fan. If he was taken out for a SEASON it would not surprise me. Forget a black eye to the league, this is more like a stab in the back. Artest has pretty well doomed his career, as I doubt even the most hardcore Pacers fan can defend him.
    J. Oneal was pretty out of it as well. He didnt go into the stands, but he did punch a fan who came onto the court. He should get 5 games minimum. That is unacceptable.

Reggie Miller was a real hero tonight aswell. I don't know how many noticed, but he, with his broken hand was trying to hold Artest back, and actually chased him into the stands to restrain him.
Larry Brown also, just recovering from surgery, trying to hold Ben Wallace back, and trying to break up others as well.

    Two real heros...</div>

All I gotta say is that if someone threw a beer at me when I was trying to avoid a fight and suspension, i would have gone after them too.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Adrenaline:</div><div class="quote_post">That was the greatest thing i've ever seen in my life. Artest had the right to hit the fan, why would you want a bottle thrown at you for no reason? Then O'neal knocking that fat guy out was awesome! Man..that was great. Pistons are sore losers.</div>

Not on the court it isn't acceptable. Would you rather beat a guy up and get possibly get suspended for the season, or get stuff thrown at you but, still have your legit chance at winning a ring?

OMFG! Guys, calm down. Who cares what happened. Fact is, we were getting our ass kicked and people got pissed.

Fight started, it is just the way of life. Everybody goes through fights. If anybody thinks that I'll be sympathetic towards a NBA player who gets paid millions upon millions of dollars to throw a damn ball into a hoop has another thing coming.

That is the problem with the country right there. You should be able to go out and settle some things over a fight. It just needs to happen sometimes. Having a bully pick on you at school, kick his ass, but no, in America you get suspended, written up, get some demerits, etc. Why? You kick a kid's ass, in self-defense if you want, but you still get suspended. Hell, I got suspended for defending myself after being attacked by 3 people from behind. I later learned that instead of kicking their ass, I should have made my way towards an adult even though there were about 500 kids crammed into the circle around the fight. Worked out for me in the end, seeing as they couldn't run away either. Point is, fights work.

Lots of things are settled over a fight. You guys need to relax.

Ring? Artest should look to getting fitted with some metal bracelettes. He should be in Cuffs, and if he wasn't a multimillionaire he would be.

As I said before it all comes down to values. If you think a fight is more important than winning then suit yourself.

i can't believe i don't have a tv. i really wish i could have seen this. could anybody please post a link if you a find a video stream or anything somewhere online. i figure it may be on espn motion at some point, but they usually keep things pretty short.

btw...i am not sure how what the law is in the states, but i imagine that street fights and similar incidents are taken in by the police. while this of course will never happen to someone of the stature of an nba player, i imagine it will be looked into with respect to the fans. this is my assumption and by no means the way things will turn out necessarily, but if they do - do you not find that just a tiny bit corrupt?

Well, what are we talking about now? A basketball game compared to a fight? What type of fight? How about a fight where you are attacked by a guy with a knife? Then hell yeah, life or death is more important then winning.

However, if we're talking about what happened tonight, with the basketball game and the fight. Then of course not. But I already said it, we lost. We SHOULD have taken the loss. However, the fact that the fans started a fight is not the worst thing in the world and is not an atrocity. As I said, people's nature is to fight. Why do we have wars? It is the same reason. There will always be fights, and tonight was just one of those nights.

Thoes fans were dispicable human beings its a shame Artest is going to get suspended cause those fans deserved more than they got. What crawled up Ben Wallaces butt jeeze that was like a 2 year old throwing a tantrum IMO he acted as immature tonight as Artest ever has. Those fans need to spend the night in jail. Also whoever said Artest needs to be cuffed is an idiot any other place on earth it would have been self defence and those fans would have gotten a much deserved broken nose jaw or what have you but thats the thing none of those fans would say boo to Artest on the street .the cowards. When it comes down to it Ben Wallace is to blame for being a little girl and pouting cause he got beat.

When Ben pushed him..Artest went flying. At that stage it wasn't that big a deal but artest decides to lay down on the scorers table? WHY? and thats when it all started..Ben should get a 1 or 2 game suspension but he was not all his fault..artest and Sjax made it a whole lot worse. They should get huge suspensions for attacking the fans..even though what the fans did was STUPID

first of all i did not say that anybody needs to get arrested, but that is should be the police who looks into it and not the nba disciplinary comission or whoever.

on a second note, when you go out and knock anybody out for throwing a plastic cup full of beer i think it goes beyond self-defence. that is just a mindless reaction asking for further trouble.
