Everyone has to realize the obvious: talking is much different than acting. Vince, for all we know, is just talking to get himself and the fans hyped up, but we all know sooner or later he'll find any excuse in the book to back up that statement as to why he hasnt fulfilled it. I am certainly not convinced that Vince will even come close to what he was. My bet is that for the first 5 games or so he'll play really well, eventually he will lose it due to fatigue and other unknown reasons.

Vince has played bad the last two or three seasons (when injured or not), I doubt he's just going to come out with some master plan after 3 straight seasons of poor conditioning and work ethic.

After having VC on my fav players list ever since I joined, I'm finally taking him out because quite frankly, I've had it with all his BS. Why does he feel the need to prove all the doubters wrong as soon as he joins another team? Umm, Vince, you know you could've done that while you were playing for the Raptors!!!

Oh well, VC has dug himself the biggest hole right now. He has put himself in a position where it's "damned if you do, damned if you don't", meaning that no matter how he plays in NJ, he's going to be screwed. If sucks then he'd prove all the doubters right by being an overrated player, and if he's back to his all-star form, then he will also prove the doubters right by being the type of player who lacked passion, heart and effort when the going gets tough.

Excellent post, especially the last part, I completely agree. He's said these type of comments before, it's nothing to get bitter and mad over. As Franchise said, I expect him to have a couple of good outings but nothing like before, that's the way things are now. And no matter how much Vince wants to prove his dobuters wrong, he needs to realize that the reason they doubt him was because of himself. His poor work ethic is true. His lack of driving to the hole is true. What's he getting mad about? He basically fell into the hands of the media. He doesn't drive, he looks more concerned about making jokes with opposing players then winning and he feels the summer should be all about relaxation instead of making his body stronger so it doesn't suffer more injuries.

The only thing that will now stop Vince is injuries.

^ lol after all you've seen through the good times and the rough times, that's what you're going to say? I mean it's all cool to be supportive about your favourite player but be realistic now. How many times has Vince Carter said that he'll prove everyone wrong and took no action to prove his claim? How many times have we, as fans of Toronto and Vince, been betrayed and dissapointed by his decimal performances and his lack of passion? It's been 4 seasons since we saw the last of Vinsanity, and I don't think it's going to be any different even with the change of scenery.
