Funny thread. According to SLAM's Lang Whitaker, a close friend of RJ's told him that RJ is "esctatic that Vince is here". That's great to hear because an ever improving RJ (check the games, droppin 38 and 42) plus a rejuvinated Vince could spell dangers for opposing teams. And let's not forget that Jason Kidd's not even fully back to "Jason Kidd-mode" yet.

I'm a Raptor fan as well as a Vince fan and I actually am kind of bitter on this trade. I think we got a good trade (for what Vince is worth now) back but it's like someone said...losing Vince in Toronto was like losing a girl you'd gone with for 7 years. Yeah, she isn't always there for you, yes the relationship sometimes was tough but you still loved her, and that's exactly how Toronto embraced Vince Carter. We cheered him on his hard times and until recently, cheered him during his bad. After the trade demand though, most Raptors fans basically saw it as a slap in the face. I am bitter about losing Vince because I grew up watching him. I loved watching Raptor games at the age of 11 (that's how old I was in 1999) and just watching Vince period. He was the reason I fell in love with basketball again. He was the reason I started watching Raptor games more regularly. He was the reason why I would be proud to rock a Toronto Raptors jersey, no matter if the stupid dinosaur was on it or not. Guess Vince going out of Toronto was kind of like a wake up call for me cause I realize that the good times eventually and things change. It's sad to see him go and I'll always be a Vince fan at heart. I wish him all the sucess and I must admit, I was one of those fans who lashed out at Vince earlier this year but a couple of months can't erase the other 6 years of memories that he has provided me with.

I think its alway hard to see your favorite player go from your favorite team. But at the same time you have to take into account how much of this league is business. And in the NBA world of today with consistent trades & free Agency moves made with the $ as the bottom line, players are going to switch teams all the time. The problem I see( not talking about anyone particularly, just in general) is Vince getting alot of backlash after the trade. And its like people need to understand , its still ok to support Vince even if he isnt in a Raptors Jersey. But at the same time still be a die hard Raptors fan.
Those of you who are laughing your heads off clearly misinterputated what he was trying to say and imply. Basically RJ is saying that two players that play the same posistion, can co-exist together, just like MJ and Pippen did. RJ and Vince Carters game, are similar and different at the same time. Simple as that.You guys have blown this out of proportion.
