This is the new trade thread for any Warriors trade rumors, so mods, sticky would be nice [IMG] So the Warriors are looking to trade Ucle Cliffy and the Clippers want Baron so,

New Jersey trades: PF Brian Scalabrine (4.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.0 minutes)
New Jersey receives: PF Clifford Robinson (8.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.8 apg in 26.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +4.0 ppg, -1.9 rpg, and 0.0 apg.

Golden State trades: PF Clifford Robinson (8.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 1.8 apg in 26.3 minutes)
SF Mike Dunleavy (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.8 apg in 31.1 minutes)
Golden State receives: PF Brian Scalabrine (4.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.0 minutes)
PF Chris Wilcox (10.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.9 apg in 23.5 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -5.4 ppg, +1.9 rpg, and -1.9 apg.

L.A. Clippers trades: SG Corey Maggette (21.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.4 apg in 37.7 minutes)
PF Chris Wilcox (10.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.9 apg in 23.5 minutes)
PG Marko Jaric (11.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 6.4 apg in 35.5 minutes)
L.A. Clippers receives: PG Baron Davis (19.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 6.1 apg in 30.3 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -23.5 ppg, -12.2 rpg, and -4.6 apg.

New Orleans trades: PG Baron Davis (19.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 6.1 apg in 30.3 minutes)
New Orleans receives: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.8 apg in 31.1 minutes)
SG Corey Maggette (21.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 3.4 apg in 37.7 minutes)
PG Marko Jaric (11.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 6.4 apg in 35.5 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +24.9 ppg, +12.2 rpg, and +6.5 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to New Jersey, Golden State, L.A. Clippers and New Orleans being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. New Jersey, Golden State, L.A. Clippers and New Orleans had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    What do you think?

P.S. This is the new trade thread for any Warriors trade rumors, so mods, sticky would be nice [IMG]

As much as I want to say "where do I sign", there is no way for Clips to make that trade...

Nets don't get anyone who makes much impact,Warriors lose established vets and a young starter and get guys who have not won a starting role yet. Of course it is risky for the Lakers who take Kidds contract and he's getting older, might slow or be injury prone. From warriors angle,I do like Cook. Mihm has only had a few big games overall but he can rebound. If they could turn Jones into something it might work, they'd get younger if nothing else

The Sixers would never consider trading both Korver and Dalembert for just Dunleavy and Fisher. While they would probably like to get McKie's contract off their hands, both Korver and Dalembert are promising young players who are learning and getting better.

I like that Jumaine Jones one. He will be a good player that people will forget about and then be suddenly suprised that he's lighting the other team up shot after shot. Monty would love his defense and his scoring from the corner spot. Brian Cook is that 3 point shooting power forward right? What else does he do again?

Jones was one of things I thought about while making this trade. And to answer your question regarding Cook, he also provides good bench points

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    New lineup:

    PG: Speedy Claxton/ Luis Flores
SG: Jason Richardson/ Mickael Pietrus/ Calbert Cheany
SF: Michael Redd/ Mickael Pieturs/ Zarko Cabarakapa
PF: Troy Murphy/ Brain Scalbrine/ Eduardo Najera
    C: Adonal Foyle/ Andris Biedrins/ Brain Scalbrine/ DD

Well we do this for the obvious. We get Michael Redd and Brian Scalbrine. And in the process we dump the expiring contract of Cliff Robinson. NJ might do it because of the lineup they get once RJ is back

    PG: Zoran Planinic
    SG: Vince Carter
    SF: Richard Jefferson
    PF: Keith Van Horn
    C: Nenad Kristic

Milwake gets Jason Kidd, Mike Dunleavy, Rodney Buford, and Jason Collins. New lineup:

    PG: Jason Kidd
    SG: Desmond Mason
    SF: Mike Dunleavy
    PF: Joe Smith
    C: Dan Gadzuric

Unfortunately, NJ does not want to trade Kidd unless he gets some amazing deal. Milwaukee will probably not trade Redd, especially not in that deal. Even though he will probably opt out and try to get more money, it's doubtful.

When you look at deals, you have to look for availability and need, first. Who's looking to get rid of salary? Who's disgruntled? Who is trying to get the playoffs this season and will take more salary? Evening out talent alone doesn't cut it.

Kidd wouldn't want Milwaukee anyway. He'd be an annoyance there.

In the Oakland Tribune today there was an article about Kidd coming to the Warriors. It basically talked about how the possible trade was Jason Kidd for Speedy, C-Rob, and future draft pick(s). Yesterday was supposed to be the day when New Jersey would see how badly they needed to make this trade. Warriors hoped that the "desperate" Nets would see how much they needed change after they lost to one of the worst teams in the league. They hoped that Claxton and Robinson would have a great performance and that Kidd wouldn't. This plan totally back-fired as Claxton and Robinson are both injured and the Nets kicked our a$$, giving them more reason not to dismantle the team!

^Yeah really. I would like to get Scalbrine in a trade since I've always enjoyed watching him, but now that he dropped 29 and we got smothered, we probably will not get Kidd or Scalbrine. Grrrr!

Here is are two I like. They get us rebuilding

Golden State trades: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 31.9 minutes)
SF Eduardo Najera (4.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.8 apg in 13.2 minutes)
PG Derek Fisher (11.3 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 3.9 apg in 27.1 minutes)
Golden State receives: Chris Crawford (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SF Al Harrington (17.3 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.0 apg in 39.6 minutes)
PG Tyronn Lue (7.8 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 3.6 apg in 26.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: -2.5 ppg, -0.7 rpg, and -0.6 apg.

Atlanta trades: Chris Crawford (No games yet played in 2004/05)
SF Al Harrington (17.3 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.0 apg in 39.6 minutes)
PG Tyronn Lue (7.8 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 3.6 apg in 26.0 minutes)
Atlanta receives: SF Mike Dunleavy (11.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2.5 apg in 31.9 minutes)
SF Eduardo Najera (4.4 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 0.8 apg in 13.2 minutes)
PG Derek Fisher (11.3 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 3.9 apg in 27.1 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +2.5 ppg, +0.7 rpg, and +0.6 apg.

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Golden State being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Golden State had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Atlanta gets rid of Chris Crawford's contract and bring some veteranship shooting on their team. Also they get a passer in Mike Dunleavy who can be a sufficient scorer when he wants to. Also they get a great hustler in Eudardo Najera who can rebound and will provide good bench minutes on another team. The new Depth Charts

PG: Derek Fisher/ Tony Delk/ Kenny Anderson
SG: Mike Dunleavy/ Josh Childres/ Boris Diaw
    SF: Josh Smith/ Boris Diaw
    PF: Antoine Walker/ Obinna Ekezie
    C: Jason Collier/ Pedrag Drobjnak/ Kevin Willis

Golden State gets rid of Eduardo Najera whose knees are that of Nick the Quick. Mike Dunleavy who hasn?t been doing very well with the Warriors gets a change of scenery, which might be good for him. Also Golden State gets rid of Derek Fisher?s contract. The Warriors get a rising star in Al Harrington to start side by side with Troy Murphy. Also Tyronne Lue is a good point guard that could be a very dangerous combo. New Depth Charts

PG: Speedy Claxton/ Tyronne Lue/ Luis Flores
SG: Jason Richardson/ Mickael Pietrus/ Calbert Cheany
SF: Al Harrington/ Mickael Pietrus/ Zarko Cabarkapa
PF: Troy Murphy/ Zarko Cabarakapa/ Cliff Robinson
    C: Adonal Foyle/ Cliff Robinson/ Andris Biedrins/ Dale Davis

Next thing we do is get rid of Cliff. What we do is,

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Golden State and New Jersey being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Golden State and New Jersey had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out unless trade exceptions were used for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

We get a real power forward to back-up Murphy and get a lot of cap space and give New Jersey what they want. New Depth Charts

SF: Al Harrington/ Mickael Pietrus/ Zarko Cabarkapa

At this point, the Kidd deal won't work for the Warriors. Kidd in a few years will be a step slower, still a big contract, and he's been having more injuries lately. The Warriors would not be able to add anyone else, having his contract and giving up picks. For a couple of years,if everyone is injury free,it would be a team that could reach .500,but beyond that it could be big problems. The Korver-Dalembert deal is interesting, ironically the Warriors could have had them as second round picks. Dalembert is basically a taller, but less mobile version of Foyle. He can help on D but won't score much. Korver was a fairly good all around player in college but the 3 is what his strenth is,i was a bit concerned last time I saw him,he was at the arc ALL the time, launching the 3 no matter what. If Korver improves his shot selection ,%,and doesn't get too specialized he could be a plus. The return of Arenas deal was nice but I don't see Washington taking the bait

1st, no way for Atlanta to make that deal. Harrington is already better than Dunleavy, so why would they want to trade him? In addition, you are asking them to take two overpaid contracts, Najera's 3.5 years contract and Fisher's 5.5 years contract. It just won't happen.

2nd, I can see that happening, although I don't know why we would want to make that deal..

I wouldn't mind Chris Mihm or Jumaine Jones. The Lakers knew what they were getting in those guys. That's the difference between Kupchak and Mullin. Kupchak has a better idea of who he is signing whereas with Mullin it's all in his dreams. Granted the Shaq trade obviously made the team weaker, they've at least found a middle to prevent themselves from getting run over. In addition, there are always players that would want to play with Kobe even if his character is sometimes in question. We're still a donut squad, we still don't have an identity or the clout to attract free agents, and everything Mullin does from now on will have to be perfect coming from the draft. If we get nothing but projects, we'll never have a complete team and if we end up getting safe picks, we'll never improve without a franchise player. Jrich isn't enough. Having Cliffy and Speedy out is just proof of this. We need nba level talent. Not these college stars or role players that were sucessful on winning teams like Duke or the Lakers.
