Baron came on Rick Barry's show yesterday and in this interview Baron says he's going to demand players to work out with him in the summer and improve their games. I love this guy so far.

This is awesome this is the true vocal leader on this team. You know Jamison, and Jrich in recent years were expected to be that type of player because they were the best players on the team, but they had so many flaws and were not really bonafide players that they could do that. Now we have that guy. This guy is not only going to lead by example like Jamison and Jrich have done but he is also going to demand these players to improve themselves or else they will prove their metal and will probably be moved. I can see big things happening next year. If we can improve individually and collectively there is no excuse for this team to not be near .500. And if you look at the teams in the west this year like Minnesota, Denver and LA we should be right there in the thick of it if not a solid 4-6 seed...

J-Rich is one of the leaders of this team man... Baron and J-Rich will be a duo really of leaders kinda like Jamison and JR were supposed to be. J-Rich will only help his team with this and as will Baron

J-Rich isnt really a vocal leader tho.. Davis is the first one we've had in awhile and I believe that is exactly what this team needs. Earlier in the season the team was critisized for being too quiet. No one was really communicated on the court and showed by how they played. I actually thought Cabarkaba showed some signs of court leadership and good communication when he started to take over the game vs Houston. I expect this team to have great chemistry next season.

I still think we're one or two players away from a 4-6 seed. When we get a big man who can score in the post, then this team will be a force. Dunleavy will get so many open looks...

Not only that, but a hopefully a big man that can defend in a variety of ways. I think we're definitely missing Cliff and Dampier's interior defense which has kept us in games despite not being able to score very well. You got Biedrins and all, but he's still a work in progress on the offensive end. And you know how Troy Murphy can be at times on his 40% shooting, blocked layups, zero blocked shots, mediocre post defense, etc. Pray the draft gives it to us or New Orleans wants to strengthen us even more.

Its funny too because Cliffy tried to be that vocal leader but he was a has been. He was just too old and not an All Star anymore. Baron Davis is just what we needed...

Its ok. Not alot of teams have legit low post players...

    ****************************************

Watching the game so far. We are up 15-5. Murphy is rebounding well. Baron Davis is starting. He looks a little out of control, but he is still making some nice plays. Dunleavy had a beautiful pass to Jrich across 3/4 of the court for an alley oop. Jrich had a couple of nice post up moves for easy baskets and a nice pass to a streaking Foyle...

Warriors up by 11 at the end of 1 quarter, Richardson has 17 points, most of them being post ups and baskets down low or dunks....

Sadly, Baron Davis is our best post player. Either him or JRich. Those guys are really strong.

[IMG] Jrich is a pretty solid post up guard.

Well players will certainly respect Davis. Good to see him taking charge.

Yeah, lol. Let's hope we can get Biedrins to be Dampesque inside.

Maybe absence makes the heart grow fonder but why all this love for Damp? Dude averaged 15 and 9, that's it. He hardly played hard all the time. He was foul prone. Yes he blocked the occasional shot but was more likely to commit a hard foul than block the shot. His impact on the Mavs has been minimal. The Mavs are winning more because of Nowitzki and the development of Daniels and Howard than Dampier.

Yes Damp made a few post moves but he did not bring the double team that much and when he did I scratched my head myself because its not like he would light you up for 30 or 40.

The Warriors are a better team right now because they can score. So if they can just play enough D, not Van Gundy 75-70 D, but make enough key stops they will be fine.

Damp's offense consisted of a baby hook and put back dunks. Big Dre Biedrins has already shown that he can maybe equal Damp's offensive skills by next year, if not be the end of this year. He's looking really comfortable right now. His cuts to the basket are getting him some good looks, and should also get him some good put backs.

Damp is a dog. Hands down. I'm glad that all the former W's are getting what they deserve. Arenas, Jamison, and Hughes are quality players. Webber is getting a godsmack right now in Philly and Damp is doing what he always does, sitting injured while collecting money.

You warrior fans are very optimistic about Baron's ability to lead. Just hope he doesn't become unhappy and start missing months at a time because of "injuries"
