What do you guys think about him? He seems a bit underrated due to his injuries. Otherwise, this guy is a solid 20/10 guy even if he is a bit undersized. He reminds me alot of a young charles barkley but in a lot better shape...

That seems interesting. How big is this guy? If he is a power forward we should go for it. If he's a center, than no. Maybe though

Simien for a top ten pick? I'd be furious if we drafted him that high. He's very injury prone & 6'7. I've seen a few Kansas games and he looked okay. He uses his strength to overpower those college kids but in the NBA, that won't fly. If we had a draft day deal where we packaged the #6 pick for a big + #16 pick, then that would be better.

What about Ike Diogu? Any Elton Brand type player with a low post game and defense would be helpful.

I've never seen Diogu play. I've read about him and everything written about him was very impressive. Solid post play, good weak side defender(Murphy's achilles heal), good passer, soft hands, tough, good touch around the basket. If he played for a big school, he may have had more hype. Jay Bilas is in love with the kid.

Hey CR: you were also thinking about Shelden Williams from Duke right? I've only seen him a couple of times but I'd have to pass on him. He's wild. When Duke played their first game for the tourney, I noticed a few things. I didn't see any part of a finesse game in him. He looked less polished then Simien. He was also in foul trouble but coach K left him in the game. He continued to play very agressively and you could even hear JJ Reddick scream "No fouls Shell, No Fouls!" He got a lot of calls go his way that he wouldn't get in the NBA. He's good but he doesn't have ideal height, isn't a genetic freak, his post play relies on strength, doesn't play smart and was accused of rape in high school. That doesn't make him guilty but it certainly doesn't help...

Simien is a fine college player but he's undersized as a power player. Now he might blossom like Pierce after leaving Kansas but I doubt it.

Maybe we can unload Fisher and get Chris Paul.

I'd like to see us invite Guillaume Yango from Pacific in to see if he can make the team. The kid He's about 6'9 250 and plays well around the hoop. He'd be a decent backup at the 4.

Diogu, Simeon, Williams, Yango, and Turiaf... I'm not sure if any are worth a lottery pick, but they should all be around when the W's are drafting and some may pass through to the second round. That is if all of them are in the draft this year.

Turiaf is not what is needed. While for some reason Gadzuric still has a job, Turiaf has bad hands, not a very dependable shot, and just simply came up small at tournament time and other key games. The reason for 'Zaga's success this year was more Raivio (PG) and Morrison, not Turiaf.

Diogu has skills and might be a helpful pick although I'm not sure how big he is. As I recall he's more of a bruising small forward rather than a power guy.

Yeah, Morrison did tear it up. Turiaf was bothered this past year with his ankles.

Its sad when you look at nbadraft.net, all the "big" men are not from the US. Granted Taft is up there, but he's not really the bruising precense the W's need.

Maybe with the way things are going, the W's will just happened to land the #1 and pick up Bogut.

But I'm more excited to see Andris rise up, put on some weight and become the player we need. Murph has also already acknowledged his need for an improved post game. And judging from his past, maybe he'll fall in love with a baby hook instead of the 3 point shot he worked so hard on and just loves to death.

I doubt Yango will get drafted. I think he'd be worth inviting to camp

He is a PF. He is listed at 6'8" 255...

Simien is 6-8 at least, often listed as 6-9. Ike Diogu looked super aganst Arizona, was the only reason that game went OT. Would take him no question He is 6-8 255. Diogu shines in every area, gives 110% effort,a 20-10 guy who can move, block shots, hit a 3 and has a great attitude. Sheldon Williams is an inch taller,5-10lb heavier and fierce on D,Rebounds, you can check the stats. Sheldon is a PF who could play a bit of C. Diogu is a guy capable of playing either F. Simien has a lot of the same upside, though lacks Diogu's speed and range and his D isn't equal to Sheldon's. I'd give Diogu the edge, his quickness and range make him more adaptable. Next is Williams who would really help the D,rebounds and is a skilled finisher inside but seldom shoots beyond 10ft. Simien would probably be a good player though he isn't as consistant as I'd want and his injury history might be a concern, however Simien is a SR and if quite a few guys don't enter it is possible he'd be the best available. With all 3 you know you won't get a prima-donna or a guy with false potential-because he fails to work at it. While there are a few others on my short wish list as well,I like these guys.

I keep seeing mocks with Roberts listed as a mid round 2 and if he is in that slot,a steal. I think he will go at the end of round 1 and be a good pick there. Roberts upside is a bit like Simien's,slightly less bulk + power but perhaps a bit more consistant. Not a guy with fancy highlights but a solid workhorse type who gets it done
