Ok, well, plenty of you seem to enjoy the bust thread, and it's always a hot and very debatable topic. So today, as promised, I have dug into the archives and pulled out my choices for the biggest steals of the last decade. Now, as always, this comes with a disclaimer, and some rules. All of these choices are SECOND ROUND PICKS ONLY. I know some of you tend to miss my reasonings. So, without further adue, here is THE LIST! 95-ERIC SNOW-MICHIGAN ST-SEATTLE #43 96-SHANDON ANDERSON-GEORGIA-UTAH #54 97-ALVIN WILLIAMS-VILLANOVA-PORTLAND #48 98-RASHARD LEWIS/CUTTINO MOBLEY-HS/RHODE ISLAND-SEATTLE/HOUSTON-#32/#41 99-EMMANUEL GINOBILI-ARGENTINA-SAN ANTONIO #57 00-MICHAEL REDD-OHIO ST.-MILWAUKEE #43 01-GILBERT ARENAS-ARIZONA-GOLDEN ST. #31 02-CARLOS BOOZER-DUKE-CLEVELAND #35 03-KYLE KORVER-CREIGHTON-NJ #51 04-TREVOR ARIZA-UCLA-NEW YORK #44 Once again, these are mine, you may have yours. My vote for greatest has to be either Ginobili at 57. CRAZY and also Redd, but, he's my boy so I may be bias. In any event, have fun, gimme yours, pick em apart and I'll see ya in future posts!
My vote goes to Michael Redd.I havent even heard about him too years ago, and now he is one of the best players in the league.
The 2001 class had a lot of guys looked over, Arenas, Parker, Watson, and Okur. I'd go with Arenas as the biggest steal. Redd and Gino are also great choices, but Gino didn't play pro ball right away. Michael Redd was a stud in college, had a rough JR year, but I don't think anyone expected him to be one of the better players in the NBA though. What ever happened to his running mate Sconnie Penn? Very strong list Kicksdaddy, I always liked Don Reid in 1995 as a steal. Eric Snow is a great call though.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">What ever happened to his running mate Sconnie Penn?</div> Scoonie played one season for the Begrades club called Red Star, people really liked him here in Serbia he even made a music video with our rap group. After this season he went to Zagreb,Croatia and played for Cibona.i don't know where his playing at the moment.
Damn, beat me to it. Thats the last I've heard of Scoonie aswell. And yeah, Shape, this was a hard list. I honestly toiled through a couple drafts and as you see couldnt pick one guy in '98. An even harder list for me to put together might be a biggest draft steal by trade or otherwise, in the whole draft. Weather it be a Sprewell picked late round one. Or a Scottie Pippen for Olden Polynice type draft day trade. I might just work on that one over the weekend as well. From now on until players declare and pre draft camps get rollin and private workouts start, draft rumblings are quiet right now.
Draft trade steals would be a great project. There have been so many deals, Nowitzki was a steal for Dallas, the Warriors traded Robert Parrish and Kevin McHale for JB Carroll. The Warriors also traded Bernard King to New York for Michael Ray Richardson and a 5th round pick, and Kobe for Divac.
Who I like the most was Gilbert Arenas, Rashard Lewis, Emmanual Ginobli, and Michael Redd who all became all stars(Michael Redd last year). These are people with the exception of Ginobili whose teams would struggle without them.

Worthy also was the result of a trade, though I don't recall the details
I am glad you brought Snow into your list, he has been very underrated throughout his career but he is a very reliable point guard that led (behind Iverson) the Sixers to the finals. As for the biggest steal I would say Cat Mobley, Michael Redd, or Manu. Arenas, Boozer, and Rashard Lewis were all steals but they went very early in the second round. Manu, Cat, and Redd on the other hand were waiting to see if they were going to get drafted by the day was over.
