Vandeweghe, 46, has one year left on his contract and it appears that the Nuggets are not willing to let him out of it. Paul Andrews, Denver's executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said: "All I can say is that Kiki is under contract with the Denver Nuggets." The Cavs and Nuggets tied for the worst record in the league three years ago. But since then, Vandeweghe's work has resulted in two playoff appearances. Following the drafting of Carmelo Anthony with the third pick of the 2003 draft, Vandeweghe has retooled the roster with free agents Earl Boykins, Andre Miller, Voshon Lenard, Jon Barry and Kenyon Martin.
