PG : Marbury SG : Crawford SF : Tim Thomas PF : Kurt Thomas C : Sweetney ( I guess ) What do you guys think the starting 5 will be to start of the season? I really don't think Dampier or Vince are going to be Knicks this year.
W/O Dampier PG: Stephon Marbury SG: Allan Houston SF: Jamal Crawford PF: Tim Thomas C: Kurt Thomas W/ Dampier PG: Stephon Marbury SG: Jamal Crawford SF: Tim Thomas PF: Kurt Thomas C: Erick Dampier
Yeah but Jamal will get powered at SF due to lack of strength and the same with TT at PF. Picture TT covering guys like Jermiane, Duncan, Garnett, Kmart, etc. (it's not gonna happen).

If Dampier or Vince are not Knicks: PG- Starbury SG- J Crawford SF- Houston PF- T Thomas C- Sweetney 6th man: K Thomas
w/o Dampier pg-Marbury sg-Houston (if healthy) sf-T. Thomas pf-K. Thomas c-Mohammmed (remember him) (Crawford comes in to sub houston and at times marbury) w/Dampier pg-Marbury sg-Houston sf-T. Thomas pf-K. Thomas (unless he is traded for dampier, then sweetney starts or JYD) c-Dampier
Without Dampier PG- Stephon Marbury SG- Allan Houston SF- Tim Thomas PF- Kurt Thomas C- Nazr Mohammed With Dampier PG- Stephon Marbury SG- Allan Houston SF- Tim Thomas PF- Vin Baker C- Erick Dampier
Point Guard: Stephon Marbury Shooting Guard: Jamal Crawford Small Forward: Allan Houston Power Forward: Kurt Thomas Center: Nazr Mohammed Almost positive.
Allan Houston cannot play the SF.... he will start as SG.... Unless Tim Thomas gets traded he will start as their SF even though I think Penny can do a better job than he could... PG Marbury SG Houston SF Thomas PF Sweetney C Thomas ... I cant see why that line-up would be any different.... Crawford/ Penny will be the main back-ups for the backcourt... even though I still think Penny should start, but no one has belief in him, but thats how it looks for now.
PG - Marbury SG - Houston SF - Tim Thomas PF - Baker C - Kurt Thomas Bench: PG - Crawford SG - Crawford/Penny SF - Penny PF - Sweetney C - Mohammad 6th Man: Jamal Crawford NYK MVP: Starbury
The Knicks for chemstry reasons should either trade Tim Thomas or Penny Hardaway because one of those guys are going to have to accept a much smaller role on the team then expected. And those two dont seem like the type to accept a smaller role without complaining and disrupting chemistry. Tim Thomas couldnt even ever really accept the big three out shining him in Mil-town. So I think either Penny or Tim Thomas got to go. Tim Thomas obviously would be the easiest to trade due to him being just 26 and doesnt have the extreme injury history that Penny has in the past. Also while Kurt Thomas can play the Center spot, I dont think the Knicks should start him at the position. He is clearly most comfortable and suited playing the 4. And he is clearly the Knicks only bigman right now that can be counted on to put up decent stats so want to make him as comfortable in thje lineup as possible. The fitted he is in the lineup, the more KT will produce. And there is no way the 100 million dollar man is going to the bench. Allan Hoston spot in the Knicks starting lineup is probably most secure to be honest. He makes to much to be realistically traded. And He makes to much to be sent to the bench. The Knicks are going to keep Houston as a starter, if for no other reason just to save face. They still dont want to admit that giving this cat so much money was one of the worst decisions in franchise history. And by sending Houston to the bench would basically be there admission and I dont see it happening. And Houston starting at the 3 spot is almost comical to someone who has watched the Knicks play on a regular basis. Starting Steph Allan Houston Tim Thomas Kurt Thomas Nazr Mohammed The Bench is where thing will really be confusing as far as because most teams are really most affective when they have a 8-9 man player rotation. But based on some of the money the Knicks have invested in these players who arent worth it. Its almost like the Knicks have to play, players who shouldnt be apart of the rotation, making the rotation alot deeper then it should be to be honest. The core bench players should be... Jamal Crawford Penny Hardaway Jerome Williams Mike Sweetney Vin Baker And thats it to be honest because that rotation is already deep enuff, without creating a logjam. But then you have to realistically ask yourself, what do you do with .... Shandon Anderson making over 7 mill and Moochie Norris making about 4 mill. I mean those are extremely expensive 11 & 12 men, who based on their salaries and past roles on teams warrant them getting legit minutes in their minds at least. I think Zeke has to stay on the grind trying to continue to make moves because I dont like the make up of this team much. The Knicks are one team where you can easily look and say just about everybody on their roster has a bad contract with the exception of Sweetney of course who under the rookie scale. But everybody else on this roster has horrible deals/contracts imo..
Im almost pstive the squad will be pg. Steph sg crawford sf houston pf sweeny c. mohammed or kurt thomas I read a article where isiah thomas said he wanted steph and crawford in the same backcourt with alan houston at the small. They paid jamal crawford all that moiney he better be starting
