Very impressed with Al-Farouq. Monroe looked disinterested and his team didn't give him the ball enough. Don't know how he's the #1 PF recruit. Al-Farouq was much better.

Al-Farouq was very, very impressive. His skills are developed, he has great size (legit 6'8" with a nice frame) and he plays unselfishly. He even plays defense!

Better yet, he's barely 17, so he has a lot of room to get bigger and stronger.

His HS team is very well coached. That will help him, too.

When he gets to college and plays his natural position (SF), he's going to be a huge matchup problem.

I also like that he never even considered transferring from Wake after Skip Prosser's untimely death. That shows some character. There's lots of great, positive signs coming from this kid.

As for Monroe, it was hard to tell what kind of player he is from this game.

He's the kind of guy who is so far ahead physically, he doesn't need to use his skills.

He did look like a great rebounder, though. He's quick of the floor and seemed to have good instincts and timing.

Monroe is just bored of the competition.

Then he sounds like a jacknut.

He should be putting up monster numbers in that case, especially on national television. There were times when on offense he just stood at the 3 point line, and didn't even attempt to move inside the arc for rebounds or anything. Not the type of guy I'd want. He was outclassed by Al-Farouq, who really played with great energy, and seemed like he always had a knack for being around the ball, making plays. He scored the first 11 points for his team, single-handedly keeping them in it.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Al-Farouq @ Wake next year...as of right now they are ranked as the #1 recruiting class in the nation, so he'll be surrounded by talent.

Sidenote: how ugly was that one guy on Norcross, the 6-6 inside guy with the bald head and mustache. Man he looks like he'd smell like sh*t.

IDK... Monroe has a great relationship with his teammates, and he doesn't mind letting them shine. I don't think he's Greg Oden or anything, but I've seen him play his best, and he's a legit prospect.

Just what I want. A guy who doesn't want to play "inferior competition", and plays when he feels like it. LEGIT PROSPECT!

    Oden does it.

I'm asking: When specifically did he do this? I never saw him do it in college. You just basically generalized throughout his whole career, when I'm asking in specificities.
