The proposed George Sotiropolous/Takanori Gomi match is off. Sotiropolous is expected to face Joe Lauzon at UFC 123 instead. Sotiropolous has seven straight wins and I can't help but feel a match with Lauzon (who recently lost to Sam Stout) is a bit of a step back. However it does feel like a title eliminator-type fight for him.

Gomi could rematch BJ Penn on the NYE card.
