I think the current CBA has it so only 3 or 4 teams have the cap space to actually sign anyone without sign-and-trades, which is probably why they need to figure out a new CBA, salary cap and all that other jazz.

Philly, the 4th highest salary level in the league, also has to deal with Iverson and Webber's contract along with Jamal Mashburn's and worry about signing guys like Andre Iguodala, etc. They might just let guys like Willie Green, Kyle Korver and Samuel Dalembert go or something if the franchise cannot afford them or to trade away the contracts for expiring ones.

Well he is a defensive Foyle (maybe less) and has a good offensive game. He has not really had a pass first PG to be able to get the ball to him. He can also create shots in the paint for himself and when he is good, he can just get the ball and not miss.

Another thing I like about him is that he is reasonably priced. He is young and no one has really given him what he needs to thrive wheras here, he could be a poor mans version of Magloire

He can actually post up now and put the ball on the floor and score inside?

Petro = Dalembert. We could just draft Petro and he will be as good or better than Dalembert in a few years. Plus ive heard he can pass.

We don't really need two Foyles do we? More payroll, less chances of re-signing Pietrus/Zarko. If we got Samuel Dalembert and not wasted a #9 on Petro, it'd better be involving dumping Fisher or Foyle because it wouldn't make sense in getting him, at least not if he doesn't have low post offense.

we could make a modest bid for Ha Seung Jin the big Korean. If we get him, without spending a pick,we have a big project, and can spend picks on high percentage talent....like guys who scored a bunch, got a bunch of boards or assists. I freak when I think the W's could pick Petro and he might never reach Shika's level.
The Harlem Globetrotters always looked great....but they always played the Washington Generals who were supposed to suck.

You can't say Petro IS good,as his stats,in Europe, say he is not. He may get good someday, like all the guys at the bottom of round 2. He might cost $ and use up a roster spot while a guy we might of picked is rookie of the year. I'd as soon give that pick for Olowokandi and not have to wait while a guy gets to his level.
Diogu led the NCAA in free throws made. He scored around 23 per, with about 9 rbd,and good D...whats wrong with that? If we gave up our pick, some player or players, got Tyson Chandler, cool. If we just have to go tall, pick Frye or even Blatche,I could see some possibilities. Petro is not close to being a moderately good Euroleague guy.

Petro- 5.0ppg,2.9rpg,0.6 blocks----Diogu and Frye each had 2.3 blocks per game.

I'd take Diogu merely because he's been compared constantly to guys like Elton Brand/Zach Randolph by a lot of scouts and I definitely seem the relationship during some games. If the trend for 6'8 power forwards has died down because of the Marcus Fizers and Lonny Baxters that look great coming out of college, that's a risk within itself worth taking. So it wouldn't just be a "safe" pick. Diogu was claimed to be the best big man after Bogut coming out of college. Taft/Splitter all these other guys have potential, but can they compete?

I also prefer Diogu but I was pointing out that Petro resembles Dalembert quite a bit in size, length, style, etc.

I think we can add in this huge F.A. list into the other threads after the players who have player options and team options make their choices (although that might be a while?) All of our posts go kind of crazy anyway. [IMG] It'd be easier to single out players we should go after instead of talking about all of them at once.

I can see that Rerem has converted a lot of people to Diogu. [IMG]

I like Dalembert but he is still very raw and will command some good $$$. The warriors aren't going to sign someone who needs more time to a huge deal. We're going to go after someone more polished in the paint and cheaper.
