Because you must be so sure what's going to happen in the upcoming season. While you're at it, can you tell me whether the Magic or the Bobcats have any chance at respectability? Dude, if you're going to bash the Raptors like that, atleast look at your own team first. This whole arguement started based on what team's better on paper, correct? Your roster is filled with many unproven and raw talents who have yet to excel or reach thier potential at NBA levels. Al Jefferson, Perkins, Green, Gomes (who was actually showing signs at the end of last year), West, Rondo and even Telfair have yet to show that they are more then just players with potential. And don't give me crap about how Telfair is such a stud, because there is a reason as to why he got traded. If he was such a stud, the Trail Blazers would have been much more reluctant to part ways with him. Now, when looking at the Raptors rosters, we see that aside from Bargnani, Tucker and maybe Slokar, the rest of the roster consists of players who have either proved thier worth in the NBA OR have excelled in the Euro leagues. And, knowing the history of fast paced offenses (see the Suns for example), it doesn't matter WHO plays in the system, as long as the point guard is setting people up and the team is running, the points will come. With a super fast point guard running the ball, a franchise player that's always improving in Bosh, as well as veterans and established players who are seasoned (Porn player, Parker, Peterson), the Raptors will finish with a better record then the Celts this year. You can quote me on that, and we'll even have a bet over it.

Hey, can I get in on this "bet" seeing how I am the so called-deluded Celtic fan who started this whole thing. Considering I was only showing a surprized reaction to a prediction and was stating a personal opinion and have to get my ass chewed for it, I do not appreciate having what I think be considered "utterly pointless." Sure, the Celts have a chunk of young and unproven players such as Jefferson and Perkins, but they have shown improvements. Gomes on the other hand has been very impressive from the start, and is mature beyond his years. Green didn't have too many quality minutes in his rookie year but is gaining some confidence every day and has definitely been impressive so far this preseason. Tony Allen has a good defensive presence, and can score. And what about Delonte West? Is he a nobody too? If I remember correctly he had a pretty solid sophomore year last year, and don't forget that we have Szczerbiak, who is a nice veteran player to have. Plus Rondo is exactly what you classified you're point guard as "a super fast point guard running the ball." And as far as the Celtics not having any sort of franchise player, what would you call Paul Pierce? Yes, like everyone else in the league he isn't getting any younger, I still don't consider 29 old, but I would take that so called "old" man on my team any day. And sorry, but the Celtics have more veterans than the Raptors. So if it's okay, count me in on this bet too

How are the Raptors better than the Celtics?? You guys only have Chris Bosh and TJ Ford. That's it. TJ Ford is also somewhat unproven but did good coming back from injury. The Celtics have Paul Pierce who is DYNAMITE and good young players. Wally is a good 2nd option for Boston. Sebastian should do good and Perkins is a beast at defense. WOW, I would never bet on this even if I was a Raptors fan. This is ridiculous. The Raptors are no where near as good as the Celtics.
