I've been watching since I got home from work. I watched Ted Thompson, Laura Bush, and Joe Lieberman.

Thompsons speech was excellent. He gave a history of McCain, and went into detail about his time while a POW. I really liked that, and his comment about how "these two mavericks don't care about the alligators are getting uncomfortable, they will just go ahead and drain the whole swamp!" (paraphrased)

Laura Bush was just whatever - a cute first lady.

Joe Leiberman was extremely boring. The guy really brought nothing to the table, and was trying to make the audience believe that his presence as a Democrat at the RNC was some kind of big deal. His speaks extremely slowly, and appears to need about 3 cups of coffee. Nevertheless, I listened closely and couldn't take anything from it.

About the only thing positive I can say about McCain as a person is that he's a true life hero. So was Bob Dole.

I thought Lieberman's speech was better than Thompson's. Thompson sucked at first but picked it up. Lieberman was solid from beginning to end.

Fred not Ted  This isn't the Packer forums.

Fred Thompson gave a keynote speech that someone like Kaine should have for the dems. It was a little boring but it's hard to lose attention or walk away from the TV when you're listening about McCain's story. Plus it sounded like it worked. That's something that plays to the republicans advantage.

    Lieberman:

    "J Mac puts country first..."

"Repub or Democrat doesn't matter. We are all Americans... It's important to be an American..."

Did I miss anything? I think I covered his whole speech. Was he just reading the little signs (cliches) that people were holding up in the audience? I really wasn't inspired by any of it. I'm an American, just like Hulk Hogan, just like John McCain. Tell me something I don't know.

He could do no wrong when he was Gore's VP choice.

I may be too young to know, but what has Lieberman really inspired in his career? What is his redeeming value, if any? Anyone, feel free to chime in on this, as I really don't know.

Nevermind. He just lost me with his support for warrantless wiretapping.

    Eff you, Joe Loserman.

Best part for me personally was when the First Lady was talking about McCain's wife, and she mentioned that Cindy had visited and met with Kosovo's president and prime minister. Put a smile on my face. :)

She had been there about 2 months ago, just after the independence. John on the other hand visited my country 20 years ago when noone knew about Kosovo but things had started back then with the discrimination, and all the other bad things that were happening. So he's been there a couple of times and I'm pretty sure he'll visit again as the President of the United States.

    GO MCCAIN!!!!!!!

Mitt Romney just gave the best speech of the Convention. Maybe of both conventions. He just destroyed the Democratic party and rallied the convention hall.

I'm not a republican, but I liked this quote from Huckabee: "I'm not a republican because I grew up rich. I'm a republican because I didn't want to be poor and wait for the governement to rescue me."

Keith Olbermann seems compelled to point out "factual" problems with the Republican speeches, like how the Republican party was not founded by Abraham Lincoln.

Glad he was so fair to do this to the Democrats last week. Oh wait a minute....

Anyone else noticed that he pussied out by staying in New York this week? Sure he was put there because of the hurricane, but the hurricane has been over for two days.

Huckabee is a brilliant speaker, but also a bigoted asshole.

Watching Palin speak now. She made me feel extremely warm about her and her family. She then went into defense mode, responding to rhetoric with more rhetoric. Finally, she's now talking about what she has been up to as governor.
