The thinking here is to decide who the Blazers would pick at the currently-polled spot. Pick based on the current roster, even if it's unrealistic that the team could move up without making changes. If the guy you'd prefer isn't listed, vote for "other" and comment on who you'd pick. Ideally I'll change the options, although I don't anticipate too many "others" winning. I plan on having each pick up for a day or two. Ideally, we'll end up with the community's "top 11" list, in order of preference, just in time for the draft on June 28. Previous picks: 1: Anthony Davis 2: Thomas Robinson 3: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
The first three votes were runaways. It'll be interesting to see how this one shapes up. I went with Beal here. I like Drummond, too, but I think that Beal has a better chance of being a special player. Ed O.
I went with Drummond. You can't teach size and this team is at least 2-3 years away from advancing in the playoffs. Might as well swing for the fences.
Wow, first MM is posting like a champ and now I find myself agreeing with Zybot. Next thing ya know we will all hold hands and sing kumbaya! The fence it is, have to go with the blind squirrel and a nuthing.
i cant wait till we get to #47, i have my eyes set on a certain power guard with soft hands and footwork of a ballerina
I'll give you kumbaya. Mother fuckers choosing MKG 3rd? What a fucking joke Ok. now seriously. I went with Drummond again, but Barnes is growing on me more and more by the day
Had to go Beal on this one... he just seems to have that drive to be great. I dunno if he'll actually make it to "great", but I think the possibility is there. Drummond looks like he has a TON of bust potential: unproven Big- questionable motor-underwhelming production in college- lacking in fundamentals. He's worth a flyer a few spots down, but I would have to be totally wowed by a workout to pick him at 4.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Blazers hedge their bets by making a conservative pick and then a high risk/high reward pick (not necessarily in that order) in the 1st round. The fact that the Blazers have two lottery picks gives them the flexibility of taking some chances on players.
hey man good to see ya drummond is that classic high risk guy, you get tantalized by his potential, even though you know there is a really good chance it never pans out
I went reluctantly with Barnes. Drummond is too much of a project and I'm just not sold on Beal yet... But its really close in my book which actually makes me more excited for the 6 pick; we should have a chance at one of these quality guys. Makes me want to try to move up from 11, if we could trade a future pick to get up to 7 we could end up with two stud prospects.
Bumping for more votes. We have a tie right now, and since this isn't soccer, we have to have a winner. Ed O.
The tie is unbroken. Drummond - Hell I'd probably take him 2 or 3, if I had the chance. Honestly, guards come around every year - athletic, fluid, big men? Rare. He'd even have decent value if his -floor- is truly DeAndre "43 million" Jordan.
