Apple Keynote from this morning. New 4K Apple TV/Apple Watch3/iPhone8 and 8s and iPhone X https://www.apple.com/apple-events/september-2017/
New Watch has cellular. Don't need to have your phone with you anymore. Was never a real pain to have it with you, but that will be cool!
I agree. That's making me strongly consider getting one. I'm not sure if I should get the 8 plus or the X. I'll probably go with the X since it's only $200 more. I currently have a 6plus, so either of these will be a big upgrade. https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/
The 4K apple tv is worth a look. It's about time Apple got on the 4K bandwagon. Seems their offerings will be HDR, too. Rock on. I have an iPhone 6s plus. I'll likely upgrade to the 8 or X soon. If iTunes 4K content is ~$30 to buy, I'll be buying the DVDs instead. Much better quality, full bandwidth vs. 1/10th bandwidth (streaming). I never thought much of the watch, but my fitbit one is not holding a charge for long and they're hard to find anymore. I probably will end up with a fitbit watch of some kind over the Apple one. I haven't worn a watch for over 30 years now. Don't like the tan lines The watch doesn't run a WWW browser so any custom app I want to run on it would have to be written native. Not a huge deal, but still work I'd rather not deal with. That, though, is the appeal of Apple Watch.
I like the fact that the physical size of the X is a little smaller than the 8 Plus even though the X has a slightly bigger screen size.
Yeah, its cool in theory but you always want to have a camera with you, its not like having your phone around is a big hassle. Not sure if you can have both phone numbers on your cell phone + apple watch either. My bro got the Samsung Gear watch with cellular and it had its own phone number. I guess data will let them talk to each other though.
Watch will have same phone number. Yeah it's never been a big hassle to have my phone with me. If I'm in another city I just throw it in my backpack have my headsets on Bluetooth and use my watch to do everything.
Maybe for their next trick they can give us Get Smart's Cone of Silence with the iYarmulke (the 3rd version will have LTE service built in)
lol the Apple X is $1150 (plus tax here). Right now with my old LG G4 trade in I can get a Note 8 with a Samsung 360 camera for $640 or so. My bro went in on it, but I didn't want to pony up the money (and financing your phone is for cucks)
Cellular on the watch is awesome because if you go for a run, bike ride, canoeing, paddle boarding, dog for a walk, etc you don't have to bring your phone.
They said it will still recognize you if you put on glasses, grow a beard, new haircut, etc. Your eyes have to be open to unlock it.
