It's the middle of July, which means it's THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN! This will be the 4th year of Rip City Two Fantasy Football! It's been a lot of fun so far. Here's the list of champions: Year 1 - Perez Year 2 - @HAAK72 Year 3 - @hoopsjock Past participants and people who have shown interest before (Let me know): @Sedatedfork @LayneStaley If you're not listed, you can still join the league depending upon spots and how well you get along with members of the group (I'm trying to avoid drama this year) COMMITMENTS (11): Me @TorturedBlazerFan @JDC @hoopsjock @trailblazer18 @HAAK72 @The Professional Fan @BoBoBREWSKI @HailBlazers @dviss1 @RipCityWarrior Perez (Non-Member, could be replaced) At the end of last season, I asked you guys some questions in the PMs to determine the rules for this year. Here were the questions and the polling results: 1.) If we have 10 teams next year, should we do a 2-QB league again? (If we have 12 it'll be 1-QB) 4 YES | 3 NO | 0 INDIFFERENT -- (1 NO w/ extra FLEX instead) 2.) Do you like the bonus system? What bonuses would you remove or add, if any? 7 YES | 0 NO | 0 INDIFFERENT 3.) Are you in support of a keeper league next year? (If the majority is, we will have to decide on a keeper system) 4 YES | 1 NO | 2 INDIFFERENT 4.) Do you want to raise or lower the buy-in, or $50 a good amount as is? 1 RAISE to $60 | 1 KEEP at $50 or HIGHER | 2 KEEP at $50 | 1 LOWER TO $40 | 1 INDIFFERENT 5.) I personally like having a RB/WR spot over a FLEX just because it organizes the lineup better, and it's very rare someone uses a 2nd TE. Do you think we should keep the FLEX spot, or switch it to a RB/WR spot? 1 for RB/WR | 3 for FLEX | 3 INDIFFERENT - So based on this, we will keep #1 (2 QBs if a 10-team league), #2 (Bonus System) and #5 (We'll keep the FLEX). - Looks like we'll be doing a (#3) Keeper League unless some of you change your minds? BUY-IN: The buy-in was all over the board and it'll be something we need to sort out. I'm in support of $60 since a lot of money is paid back through the bonus system, and this would create better balance between the bonus system and placement payouts. The buy-in will be at least $50, and is likely to remain at $50 unless more people are willing to drop more money on the buy-in. IMPORTANT -- ALL RULES WILL BE ADDED TO THIS OP. REMIND ME TO UPDATE THE LM NOTE TO STAY UP TO DATE BUT THIS IS WHERE YOU GO IF YOU WANT TO CHECK RULES AND SUCH. LAST YEAR SOME RULES WERE TOO ARBITRARY OR WEREN'T WRITTEN DOWN, SO IT'S MY GOAL TO ESTABLISH ALL RULES ADDRESSING ALL POSSIBLE CONFLICTS THIS YEAR, TO AVOID WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR. IF THERE'S ANY RULES I NEED TO ADDRESS THAT'S NOT YET IN THIS OP, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. BOOK-KEEPER: - @PtldPlatypus will be the book-keeper again, if he wants. He was great last year. - Payouts due by the start of the regular season unless otherwise arranged. - If not otherwise arranged, there's a $5 add-on every 10 days that the payment is late. PAYOUTS: Placement payouts and bonus payouts will be dependent on the number of members and the buy-in amount. This will be determined before the draft. -- TIEBREAKER WILL BE POINTS FOR, NOT HEAD-TO-HEAD -- THIS LEAGUE IS/WILL BE A PPR LEAGUE. -- VETO RULES (Pending approval...) - There is a 48-hour veto review period. - Votes taken to veto a trade will depend upon number of members in the league - Trades may be pushed through before the 48 hour window if they have no push to veto (I'll establish set rules for this before the draft. THIS SECTION ONLY APPLIES TO TRADES MADE INVOLVING PLAYER WHO PLAY IN A GAME LESS THAN 48 HOURS AFTER THE TRADE IS COMPLETED. - Veto review windows may be shortened based off trades made between Friday and Saturday in order to complete fair trades by Sundays games. It's subject to my discretion based off the guidelines below. - Anything done Saturday morning will get pushed through by Sunday unless there is suspected collusion or the trade is extremely unbalanced. SOFT DEADLINES (Apx. 24 hours before...) - On Saturday, anything by 10am will get pushed through by 9:45am Sunday if it doesn't have significant veto push (even then, it's subjective because some people could vote veto to try to hold up a deal for there own personal gain).. anyone from the forum who votes veto should also explain why (for all trades, regardless of time). This rule also applies if players aren't locked until later game times, as shown below: Wed 5:15pm -- Thurs 5:00pm (Thursday Night Football) Sat 10am -- Sun 9:45am (Morning Games) Sat 1pm -- Sun 12:45pm (Afternoon Games) Sat 5:15pm -- Sun 5pm (Sunday Night Football) Sun 5:15pm -- Mon 5pm (Monday Night Football) GRACE PERIOD I'm not going to punish those who get a trade done minutes after the 10am deadline, so there is a one or two hour grace period, dependant upon voting totals, trade magnitude, and other factors. The closer it gets to hard deadline, the more obviously fair the trade needs to be to get pushed through. HARD DEADLINES Wed 8pm -- Thurs 5:00pm (Thursday Night Football) Sat 12pm -- Sun 9:45am (Morning Games) Sat 3pm -- Sun 12:45pm (Afternoon Games) Sat 8pm -- Sun 5pm (Sunday Night Football) Sun 8pm -- Mon 5pm (Monday Night Football) LAST THING -- It'd be awesome to do a live in-person draft. This is something I've wanted to do for the past couple of years but I think I can make this happen this year. - For those of you who couldn't attend live, I could probably live-stream the draft on YouTube and you could post or message me your picks when they come up. If not a live-stream, I'll post picks in a thread on here. - If you couldn't be available at all, then you could create a ranking system. We'd hopefully have a non-member go over and announce picks based on the rankings on the board. You could also send notes based on what how much you want them to focus on keeping the positions balanced while drafting (for example, if a RB is the top ranked player 3 times in a row, instead of drafting 3 RBs the 3rd pick would be the next best player at a different position).
