Who will be more productive their rookie season, Jabari Walker or Shaedon Sharpe? Not long term value, or trade value, potential, highlights, etc. Purely their value in play on the court this coming season in 2022-23.
unless I hear that surgery will sideline Shape for 8 months, I have to think he'll have more of an impact
There is no question in my mind it will be Walker just based on the depth of their positions in this upcoming season. It is almost like voting on who will be the rookie of the year. You vote for the guys who are likely to get the most minutes, not necessarily the guy who is best long term
You were correct then and you are correct now. Besides, how the hell could anybody even know? It's summer league for crissakes.
Sharpe was always a project, so I would say Jabari either way. But if Sharpe is as good as claimed, he'll find his way on the court eventually this season.
the barrier for entry (can i call it that?) for sharpe is higher than it is for walker just because of the position he plays. for Sharpe to get PT, he has to unseat or outplay at least one of Ant/Hart/Little/GP. for Walker to get PT, he only has to outplay Watford/Eubanks/Winslow/Brown. Based on that alone, you would think Jabari. But it's still too early for me to vote. I needed to see Sharpe play.
The single most important ability is availability, and he severely lacks on that one. Who knows, maybe he could blossom into a 13/6 guy, but I, personally am not holding my breath. I just don't see it. (nice avatar of drunk bert btw..)
If they both play Id go with Sharp, as I envision him coming in with second unit to be a scorer. I think he's a huge talent and you cant keep that under wraps to long.
