http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_13336843?nclick_check=1 49ers just pulled a Jerry Buss. Unfortunately, I think Crabtree is serious about this sitting out thing. This certainly won't make matters any better. Crabtree is an idiot, I have no idea what he's thinking. But either way, it sucks for the Niners since they basically wasted the 10th pick of the draft. I actually see him sitting out. If he does join the team though, one can only imagine the shit Singletary will put him through.
I thought Singletary was somewhat sympathetic toward him as he said he had been in similar situations holding out as a player.
Yeah, hold out, fucking idiot. Haven't proven shit. To me, all he is is another Mike Williams until he proves himself. Maurice Clarett, Mike Williams, and now....Michael Crabtree.
If him and his agent honestly thinks this will work out better financially (up front bonus) then I say good for him. The teams are allowed to drop the players whenever they want and a career ending injury is only a snap away. He is only trying to work the system to the best of his advantage. If the NFL doesnt like it then change the rules and put a pay scale for rookies. Players careers are short, get paid while you can.
I hope the niners draft him in the forth round again next year. Get him for 10% of what they're offering or make him sit out even longer. It's kind of wierd that I'm now rooting for my favorite team's first round pick's career to be a complete failure.
The 49ers passing game was fine in Game 1. The running game really struggled though which surprised me going against Arizona. I'm glad Singletary isn't getting involved and is focusing on the players who want to be part of this movement towards making it back to the playoffs. I'd love to see the 49ers trade him to Oakland for a future 1st rounder.
What an ass clown. I was so excited when we drafted him and now this? Can we trade his rights? Trade him for Brandon marshal and be done with it.
Yes, that is ridiculous they are doing him a favor by paying him almost as much as #9. Respect the slotting system, it already rewards these rookies with way too much.
I bet Jerry Jones wants him pretty bad. Wonder what you could coax him into giving you. Then again Jones could just take him in the 3rd round next year. Don't think anyone else would take him that high.
I honestly think his agent's just along for the ride at this point. Any marginally talented agent would have realized a no-win scenario long ago and tried to convince his client to sign. I think he's tried and Crabtree's camp has been stubbornly ignorant. I've been waiting for a quote from Crabtree during all of this.
His agent must know he's losing millions I agree. With him not being able to work out for teams or meet with them before next years draft he could lose 90% of that money.
right?? what a moron, and to know that you passed up 5 million bucks to play baseball, and have nothing to show for it? id have already killed myself lol.
