I ignored this BR report for the entirety of the day yesterday.
Why the hell I decided it was worth the read today is beyond my comprehension.

I guess this would be some trades Neil could make that would really piss some people off but work out aright in the end.

All of these trades make us worse and put us in a worse situation.

I saw the headline on B/R and resisted opening it and reading it. I stopped because although I think Kyrie Irving has unbelievable talent and can get really hot shooting the ball, he ISN'T the leader that Dame is. He also isn't a SG, so between the two of our guys - I wouldn't consider trading for Kyrie because he is NOT an upgrade at either position IMO.

Dame is almost as talented, but IS a better leader (proven).
CJ serves as a better SG and is best buds with Dame.
    Why mess this up?

    K.I. isn't the answer.

On talent alone, Kyrie is the better player, and he is 2 years younger with Championship experience... but Dame is the heart and soul of this team and his combination of talent, loyalty, and character is rare. No way I would trade Dame for a guy like Kyrie... especially after seeing the video of him laughing at his teammate being mocked by their rival.

Because what we have to say is so much more important? I hope you didn't actually call him stupid over his opinion.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
On talent alone, they are almost identical players. Irving is a better finisher, Lillard has deeper range. Otherwise, they're basically equally productive on offense and poor on defense. In this era, I'd take Lillard's near-Curry-like range over Irving's better finishing.

I'll put Lillards durability up there as well. Lillard has had some bad luck with bad falls ect but Irving seems to miss a lot of games every other year. Also Lillard is as productive as irving while not getting consistent wide open all the time and being the option defenses are looking to stop while Irving gets open looks because the defensive is to focused on the best player in the NBA that plays alongside Irving.

    Lillard's range + Lillard's leadership + Lillard's durability + Lillard's loyalty = Lillard >>>>Irving.

    No contest.
