You are now required to upload your signatures onto JBB. It's similar to what you do for avatars. Beginning October 31st, 2006 the {IMG} tags won't be allowed in signatures anymore. If you want your graphics to appear on JBB, please begin uploading them.

Honestly I don't see how that will affect sig and avy requests. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can upload a new sig when you get it (something like what we have for the avys now).

No, it just means instead of entering the link to the image into your signature, you simply upload it instead.

We made it so members can upload both their avatar and signatures now. This prevents images not displaying when photobucket runs out of memory space.

What should I do?

Here's a quick way to do it.

Step 1- Save your signature image to your hard drive.

Step 2- Open the image in MSPaint. (Start > Accessories > Paint)

Step 3- Re-save the image using Paint. (File > Save as > Save)

Step 4- Upload the new file to JBB. (UserCP > Edit Signature > upload)

That should do it...

Adding to what 44 said, save your signature as a .gif file. GIFs are significantly smaller compared to JPGs.

Saving it as a jpeg seems to cut down on the file size while still maintaing the quality of the image.

If you have Photoshop you can always just go to File>Save for Web>Put the quality at about 80 and it's perfect. It doesn't lose any quality and I'm almost certain it will fit under the JBB requirements.

Yeah I saved mine as a GIF and mine turned out all fuzzy like Kidd's. Anyway to upload with out the quality turning that way?


EDIT: I just uploaded mine, and it doesnt show. Do I still have to use the [.IMG] tags for now? Or should it work if i uploaded it.

Meh, I'm not sure about these changes, what was the actual reasoning behind it? Because I think this may end up doing more bad than good (as already experienced).

1. It makes it easier for members to upload signatures

2. Protects against the graphic in case the 3rd party image host goes down. A lot of images disappear because of storage issues.

3. You as a designer don't have to worry about constantly hosting the image.

I dont see an upload button. I just copied the url from my sig and pasted it in Option 1 of Edit Signatures. And I clicked Save changes. Did I do it correctly or do I have to upload it?
