We have a recruiting thread in the college section, we talk about people there![]()

I seen lance play he has great handles and good shot and ok hops with good defense though. When i saw lance vs oj lance did real good for a 8th grader. I think he is the top player in the class of 09. Also brandon is a junior and lance is a sophmore
I thought #1 Ranked player in Class of 08 was Tyreke Evans from American Christian.
Isn't Lance Stephenson Class of 09? The last I saw Brandon Jennings was rated 5th, I really like him too, I've been keeping an eye on him since last summer's Big Time in Las Vegas, when scouts were really impressed with him.
EDIT: Lance averaged 21 points as a freshmen at Lincoln
Hard to believe Lance is 6'5 at the age of 15. That's incredible. BTW, any of you guys heard about the player Wayne Turner who played his final year in Grady.
"Jason Kidd's contribution wasn’t just on the floor. His DNA is all over this team. What he does can’t be measured – he’s one of the all-time greats." - Mavs coach Rick Carlisle
lol I know a guy named Brandon Jennings but he aint that guy.
Bob gibbons said brandon jennings is the top player of the class of 08. Yeah i've heard of wayne turner he a pretty good player.
Brandon Jennings is transferring to Oak Hill next year
hopefully Arizona can nab Brandon Jennings, even if it's only for one season

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Brandon Jennings, the 6-foot-1 Los Angeles native who opted out of his verbal pledge to USC last month, committed to Arizona coach Lute Olson on Monday after taking an unofficial visit to the school this weekend.
Jennings is considered the top point guard in the Class of 2008 and Scout.com's No. 7 overall player in the junior class.
"He said he wants to be closer to home," said Kelly Williams, who coaches Jennings in the spring and summer and is also the father of New Jersey Nets point guard Marcus Williams. "He wants to be closer so his mom and his family are able to come and see him play."
"It came down to two schools UConn and Arizona," Williams added. "You can't go wrong with either school. It's two Hall of Fame coaches and they have similar styles."
Jennings was also pursued lately by Kentucky and Kansas.
Jennings is a California native who spent his first two seasons at Compton Dominguez (Calif.) before transferring to Oak Hill Academy (Va.) this past year. Jennings said early on in his high school career that Arizona was his dream school.
"It's huge," Williams added. "He's hands-down the number one point guard in the country. He's phenomenal and is a workaholic and a gym rat. He's only going to get better." </div>

Oak Hill Academy has had some great ballers. Josh Smith and Rajon Rondo to name a couple. Good for Arizona, because every year they are picked in brackets and do so well, and every year they fail and we wonder how.

Dang, I forgot to post this. It's somewhat old news but it's great for Point Guard U. He'll come in and dominate immediately, which is what Arizona could use right now. Jennings has owned Mayo in all their head-2-head meetings, so that's always a good way to measure how good he is.

Jennings broke Oak Hill's single season scoring record and was also named the Naismith National Player of the Year.
I've seen MANY MANY high school players who have gone on to the pros and played D-1 with my dad, and we both agreed that Jennings is the 2nd best prospect while still in HS that we've seen live, next to Lebron. Lebron was other-worldly, but the way Jennings controls the ball is unbelievable, and he knows how to play to the crowd.
Best PG I've seen play in HS, and only 2nd to Lebron overall.

Good job ignoring the two best players to come out of Oak Hill, Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Williams! Sheesh. If you were to name anyone, name them two..![]()
Props to my cousin (same last name). I haven't seen him play, I've only read about him. I can't wait to see him ball at Arizona.
Marcus Williams actually hasn't really done anything at all since being in the NBA, and not much in college either. Oak Hill has had some great players come out, but i wouldn't say Marcus is one of the best just yet.
And after all of this I am amazed, that I am cursed far more than I am praised

When Melo was a senior at Oak Hill (and had a fro), I saw him play against a junior named Lebron James.
Unbeleivable.
Make sure to watch the All-American game on Wednesday... The coaches are telling Brandon Jennings to break the assist record in the game, held by Jacque Vaughn with 13. Jennings already owns the Rucker Park record (23). The West squad is leaded, especially the starting 5.
Does anyone else hate this kid's game? He is 100% about flash and looking good rather than actually being a point guard and/or playing the game of basketball. On every single touch, he dances with the ball and looks to wow the crowd with a dribble and/or throw a boneheaded no-look pass. He is a street ball player, not a basketball player. I'm pretty convinced that he'll average at least 14 turnovers per game next year in college.

Oh, he was a player who tried to make the Nuggets. He is a street ball player who thought he could play NBA ball. He had like 12 turnovers in like summer league games.

You're watching the McDonalds Allstar Game right? I was flipping through channels and I got a chance to watch a couple of his plays. He's lightning quick, and he's throwing some nice dishes out there. They were saying that he will probably break the assist record for the game. I don't really know much about him, since this is the first time I've seen him play, but I think he has a chance to become something special

Well you said Corliss Williamson at first, so that threw me off.

Yeah I'm watching it, and I don't think he has been impressive at all for the reasons I mentioned in the opening post. He just dances around with the ball trying to make a highlight every single possession. Sure it's an All-Star game, but it doesn't matter. Even from the videos I've seen of him before this game - he does the same thing.
I think he's gonna struggle mightily in college next year. He'll put up numbers, but I'm very skeptical at the assumption that he's going to be a great point guard. In the Rucker Park league, sure. Real basketball? We'll see...
