I understand the concept and reasoning behind trade talks/rumours, possibly can this team do a nice amount of damage and keep the squad they have now?

    I mean lets get real
Thomas is a baby but brings high energy onto the court
Hinrich Spells Rose a nice amount of the time and keeps Salmons off the court
Deng is soft and too calm, but hits his sizeable amount of annoying but effective mid range jumpers

What if they don't make any moves, let Tyrus' contract expire and then go hard for Bosh to give us an inside presence for next year. Al Jefferson sure as hell isnt the answer, and unless theyre going to package Deng/Thomas/Hinrich for A'mare then honestly no trade will really make a huge positive impact regarding this playoff series..

    thoughts/concerns?

I think the main push is that they won't even have the max cap room to offer a guy like Bosh unless they trade Salmons or Hinrich. Hence the increasing desperation as those prospects fail to materialize.

True of false: a max contract for Bosh would be a pay cut

False. A player on a max contract (at least under the current CBA) can have a salary starting at 105% of his previous year salary.
