#4 WBC Magomed Abdusalamov (18-1, 18 KO’s) has reportedly been hospitalized following his 10 round unanimous decision loss to Cuban Mike Perez (20-0, 12 KO’s) last night at Madison Square Garden in New York. Abduslamov suffered a nose injury, a bad swelling on his left side of his face, a cut over his left eye in the fight. The judges scored it 97-92, 95-94, 97-92 for Perez. Gabriel Montoya of Maxboxing.com said this on his twitter “I’m told Magomed Abduslamov is in stable condition in the ICU [intensive care unit]. They are hopeful for his recovery…Prayers for Abdusalamov, who is fighting for his life following last night’s loss.” According to Fightnews.com, Abdusalamov has been put in a medically induced coma at the Roosevelt Hospital in New York.
