I'm having this argument with a couple of my friends after watching the Knicks game yesterday, and then one of my friends said Chris Bosh is probably the best big man in the league he thinks that's not named KG & Duncan, and then argued with him for about almost 30 minutes, saying that Amare is a lot more better, a lot more advanced, post skills are better, he bangs bodies down low, and I just think that he's more of a true big man than Bosh is...just wanted to know what you guys thoughts were on this

Tell your friend that he is on crack. Amare would destroy Bosh, a will, everytime they meet this season. Then again, Amare has more people on his team who command attention, and an elite pg to hook him up.

Remind your friend of Amare's pwnage statwise over Duncan in the playoffs.

Offensively Amare is the best big man in the game and his overall true shooting percentage is incredible. He's amazing at getting to the line and has a great looking 13-16 foot jumper. He has the highest efficiency out of all big men for such a high volume shooter and is a great finisher.

A larger percentage of Bosh's shots are jumpers (58% compared to 53% for Amare), and he hits those at a less effective percentage (42% compared to 47%). Amare is much better inside, and he beats Bosh by ten percent there...

Amare is crap on defense, but infinitely better than Bosh on offense.

They both rebound at about the same level. Bosh isn't as much of a liability defensively. But its really on the offensive end that Amare sets himself apart. Bosh's offensive repertoire is effective, but limited compared to Stoudemire's.

    We'll talk after this season.

Chris is going to blow up with JO helping in the post.

After the All-Star Break Amare exploded with Shaq on his team, actually. Especially his FT rate drawing... If that were maintained for an entire season Bosh doesn't stand a chance.

It is interesting to me how Amare is still one of the league leaders in PER even at such a high pace. I do like Bosh though, I've had to defend his perceived mental weakness recently. :]

Thanks a lot for your responses guys, appreciate it. But he says "he plays in a system, and he has Steve Nash as a PG", I just think it's pure ignorance

I think Amare is currently the better player but what I love about Bosh is he's the man on his team. If it's a tight game, Bosh gets the ball and has delievered in those situations.
On the Suns Nash gets the ball and makes the game winning play. Amare may get a pass if Nash is doubled, but that's a results of Nash's great play. Bosh has even had to take big 3 pointers and hit them to win games.
