Ancelotti Will Be 'Happy' If Beckham Stays

Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is geared up for tomorrow night's encounter with Genoa at the San Siro, and has added his two pence on Golden Balls' situation.

Milan host Genoa looking to exact revenge for the 2-0 defeat they suffered in their second game of the season, a result that has helped Genoa challenge for a top four finish.

The Rossoneri will be looking for the three points at home, as they attempt to cut their six-point deficit with Inter. Diego Milito has returned for fourth-placed Genoa, who have not lost since their defeat to Juventus on November 13.

David Beckham has had a decent impact on the team since joining on loan from LA Galaxy.

Beckham scored his first goal in a Milan shirt in Sunday's 4-1 win at Bologna and his contribution has helped make Milan a better team, riding high on the confidence gained with good results since the start of the new year, as well as the fact that they were able to hold onto star player Kaka.

Speaking at the pre-match conference, Ancelotti said, “We have grown, we are better now. The problems we had in the first leg of matches involving injuries and physical conditioning are gone. The situation with Kaka has also given everyone enthusiasm. He showed us a great deal of affection when he chose to stay, and I believe it is the right choice for his future.”

Ancelotti went on to comment on tomorrow's opponents. “The table is clear. Genoa is the fourth strongest in the league, and our objective is to move away from the other teams like ourselves that are aiming for the Champions League.

"Tomorrow we have a great chance to do so. Genoa plays a dynamic type of football, and they are great finishers in the attacking third. They don't have the experience to play as well away as they do at home, but they always maintain the same tactical identity. Milito is very dangerous” said the coach.

Ancelotti continued, “On Sunday we did not use too much energy, because we controlled the game and we had one player more than them. That is why there shouldn't be too many problems for those that played on the weekend to recover in time for tomorrow.”

Finally the Rossoneri coach commented on Beckham. “I don't want to force him at all. All I will say is that despite the little time he has spent here, he already understands that everything is good here at Milan and he knows what we all think of him. It is obvious that if he stays here we will all be happy, but he has a contract and only he can decide what to do.”
