Hope falling, players failing, and opponents are just dominating the Sonics inside the paint. Last in the league in rebounds, and their rebounds differential with opponents is 25th in the NBA. Their defense in the paint is absolute crud. Eddie Curry, a great post player, came in and did far better than he should have. By that, I mean he shot 9-9 while at the post, and had 12 free throws to shoot from poor defense, 9 of which he made. We MUST start grabbing rebounds. That is the most important thing I see that is hurting the Sonics. If anybody else has more to add to this, please do.
yeah I think BOB Hill has alot to answer for! He is the coach and we have some big bodies so our rebounding should not be so poor. Also our ability to win the close games is non existant! again I think that is alot to do with the coach!! I am hopeing for a fedw major moves and a high draft pick for next season, cos this one seems gone!
Y'know, I don't think there's much to blame on the coach. Ray Allen scores 25+ on average. What we lack is a good power presence on offense and defense. Too many turnovers, not enough rebounds, too many second-chance points for opponents. Baron Davis grabbed a freebie when two Sonics failed to grab the rebound, and he just picked it up right under the basket last night. We need better ballhandling and better boxing out.
Luke Ridnour needs to stay fckin consistent. He can do some good things as a true PG but he does not consistently do it. Wilcox is not grabbing boards like the guy late last season. Nick Collison and swift are good rebounders. Losing Reggie evans was definitely not good. He created so many second chance shots for them. Backed up with Collison if Reggie didnt get the ball Collison was there to get it, from the few games I got to see then. Sonics Need Shard back and a way to figure out to give wilkins some good minutes along with Shard. Watson is impressive but plays pretty wack at times. These idiot PG's need to show that they are fighting for a starting spot. AND what I mean is on the court. Not talking to media or anyone for that. Ridnour can score and he needs to do it, because his passing/assists will always be there. whether he shoots more or not. Somebody needs to step up to take pressure off of ray besides shard. There is no need for a double team if your star is being played by a defensive specialist. Which means aint no one gettin sh*t done. Bob hill is an idiot coach too. Sonics need a coach with a plan set. Ray Allen and Shard do too much for this team. Others need to be more consistent scorers like they can be or at least fill in their role CONSISTENTLY. Andre miller Passes and he gets people to score by controling the play Every night.
That's what Wilkins can do. But our main problem is scoring in the paint. We just can't, it seems. And we can't grab a rebound if the world depended on it. Or in the Sonics' case, if the bottom the garbage pile depended on it.
