http://mmajunkie.com/2015/03/after-...eportedly-to-admit-to-therapeutic-use-of-peds Silva needs to face the NSAC and it sounds like this will be the excuse. No word on whether he actually disclosed his drug usage--presumably he didn't. The NSAC will ask him why the drugs were still in his system 13-months after the leg break.
Grouch, this test was over a year after his injury. Even if he was allowed to use PED's to aid and speed up his recovery, which he isn't, how do you explain steroids still being in his system on fight night?
Actually, I was refering to the anxiety and insomnia meds. Maybe I am reading too much into his statements....but he is claiming he took the steroids for medical purposes - not that he took them under a legal prescription. Significant difference (IMHO). It sounds like he was self-medicating.
Oh okay. TBH I don't know the reasons why those sedatives are banned. I'm probably with you and the majority of people who don't really care about those so much. As for the steroids we'll find out what his excuse is. It sounds like the head of the Brazilian athletic commission or whatever it is, the guy who is also the physician for many of the fighters, will be a key figure. Antonio Silva has accused him of giving/prescribing him PED's in the past. The blame may be pointed his way.
