Unfortunately this story is getting the most attention from right-wing sources. I hate sending traffic to those sites so I'll link to Fox News which is the least conservative of the sites that are covering this. LINK Allegedly Norquist’s Islamic Free Market Institute Foundation received a contribution of $20,000 from “a top Muslim Brother and al-Qaida financier,” Abdurahman Alamoudi. Also, Alamoudi’s “long-time and trusted deputy,” Khaled Saffuri, was the founding executive director and subsequent chairman of Norquist’s organization. Apparently Norquist's wife is a Palestinian Muslim. So there's that, too. This story has all the makings of a great conservative scandal. You have the pro-gun crowd, the religious crowd and the anti-government crowd. AND this is all happening right as the campaign season is getting started.
I can't stand Grover Norquist and blame his his tax pledge for the poisonous atmosphere in Washington today, but this story doesn't pass the smell test. Grover Norquist supporting radical Islam? Comeon.
But what if it was true?!?!?!?! GOP hotshot would be the perfect cover for funneling money to Islamic radicals! Glenn Beck and Frank Gaffney are behind the accusation, which tells you all you need to know about how credible it is. Gaffney has also accused Norquist of being a terrorist, a homosexual and a member of the Jewish-Russian mafia. It would be like Neil deGrasse Tyson funding Neo-Nazis in Europe.
I don't see how the Democrats can survive this scandal. Subcommittees will open investigations. They will make a mountain out of a molehill, using this as a pretext to investigate extraneous sexual affairs, etc. This board will have 5 or 10 threads about it. ...Oh, this is a REPUBLICAN scandal? Never mind. The mass media won't mention it again.

I don't understand why Norquist felt the need to step down. Is he getting that much pressure from the investigation?
Maybe for the same reason Herman Cain backed away? If they found X, no reason to keep them looking in case they find Y and Z, too.
The thread title grabbed me immediately! Like a lot of Real Americans my age, at one point in my childhood I had an ant farm. Many lessons can be learned from watching an ant community as they continuously toil away in concert for one common goal, even though they are imprisoned in a narrow space between two panes of glass. You can imagine my delight to see a thread about the man who actually authored their form of government, but this turned out to be about something much less intriguing.
One of Maris' funniest posts ever! As a referral Scrooge, all I can give it is a "Like." There should be a higher honor.
