Lakers are realizing they have no way to contend this year. LeBron like Dame can't be traded until the offseason since signing an extension. Westbrook doesn't have trade value. Do the Lakers explore trading Anthony Davis? Rumors are they are listening. Its possibly their only chance to start building towards a future. What trades do you think are possible?
I'll throw one idea out there; Davis for Ant and Nurk. Salaries match; although both those Blazers can't be traded until Jan 15th. Suspect Blazers have to throw in pick(s). Davis - Eubanks Grant - Winslow - Watford Sharpe - Little - Walker Hart - Keon Dame - GP2
One tiny correction but not really relevant to Davis trades; Dame can actually be traded in mid January. LeBron can be traded in mid February, but as that is after the trade deadline he can't be traded until the offseason.
Davis for Dame is fucking hilarious. A guy with no heart for the heart of the team for the last decade. How dumb do these people think fans are?
Dame for Davis makes no sense for the Blazers. If Blazers are trading Dame its to rebuild with youth; thats not AD. If Blazers are bringing in AD, they need to try and win thus should keep Dame. Probably just floated the idea out there to get a bunch of clicks from Lakers fans excited for LeBron and Dame.
Kyrie looks like he will be a buyout guy or maybe MLE player, Simmons looks horrible - so Davis actually has much more value IMO.
Davis makes me twinge every time he clutches his back. Right type of player to target, but wrong player to trade for. I would rather wait and see what comes about in MIN. If Ant and KAT can’t make it work and KAT asks out, he’s the guy you make an all in move for.
If the Lakers don't think they can win now with AD (and LBJ) why would Portland think they could win now with him? Even though AD is a little younger than Dame, he ain't resigning after next season. His agent got him out of NO, he would get him out of Portland. too.
Presumably the logic is that both LBJ and AD are best at the 4, while Dame and Ant are both best at the 1, so each team theoretically improves by splitting their talent between two positions instead of consolidating at one. However, Dame is just better than AD, so it still makes no sense.
I believe AD has quite a few years left on his contract, right? He's a pretty big upgrade to Nurk, and Portland has way better players 3-8 than the Lakers, so I don't think its a foregone conclusion that Dame and AD couldn't win in Portland. Just because he left small market NO doesn't mean he now is happy in LA or would want out of Portland, although I definitely would keep in mind him leaving at a later time is a real risk. I'm not saying I for sure would do a trade for AD; but I for sure would consider it.
Dame can't be traded for 1-yr due to the type of extension he signed. July is the earliest it's possible.
AD is signed through 2025, but has an ETO for summer 2024. So we'd have him for 2 years. Interestingly, Ant+Nurk is basically equal to AD. Seeing as Nurk's health is about as reliable as AD's, that's a deal worth considering.
If the Blazers were winless or reverse the record then i MIGHT understand this early season BS but when the Blazers are doing great then stuff like this is click bait crap from a used to be good reporter who is a step ahead of Bayless ( and he is at the bottom ) and enuff said of this junk. Also when i saw this on Edge I just laughed cause it's kind of funny how national writers have a hard on to find a way to get Dame out of Portland.
