What are you most looking forward to seeing in training camp? Swanigan v. Vonleh? Nurk v. Collins? Both those are a lot of body banging around. Biebs v. Any of the above? Biebs v. Collins should be interesting. Both have something to prove and reports are that Collins is a lot more chippy than he looks.
Collins vs Vonleh is most interesting to me. Collins has a lot of tools to make him a nightmare if he were inserted in our starting lineup. Collins/Nurk is a deadly frontline combo, if Collins can be consistent and translate his skills rebounding, defending, passing and finishing, at least.
I'm afraid we won't see as much of Nurk/Collins as I would like given all the small fours in the league. Although if Collins can be just quick enough to slow them, he and Nurk could pound them on the other end.
I don't want Nurk to damage Collins in practice before ZCo has had a year to bulk up a bit. Guy is still a pup.
Zach has such a sweet mid range shot that the defense will have to come out on him, leaving more of the key open for Nurk and the guards to drive through. THIS is what Neil has wanted all along! Watch Zach and probably Vonleh and Caleb become mid range killers next season and watch this team go! More wins with less work.
But I would love to see it! If Collins takes him outside he will have the advantage. Inside is another story.
This draft feels like destiny. We have a player nicknamed ZBO and a player that plays like the original ZBO. I'm looking forward to all of the big guys scrapping, including Mr. Ed, who probably wants to prove that he is all healed up. Other than that I'm most curious to see if any of the lower end wing players have stepped up their game enough to make Crabbe expendable. I'm looking at you Mr Baseball! Not expecting much, but would be pleasantly surprised. I've read that Project Pat has spent a lot of time at the practice facility so far this off-season. I think he knows that it is time to either Show or Go.
I think Swanigan vs Aminu vs Vonleh is intriguing....Aminu has defensive skills Biggie needs to learn. I still think Vonleh dominates the starting PF position.. I like PtldPlatypus post on the Connaughton Crabbe matchup....Connaughton could take his spot if he put in the work
