For someone who speaks of how amazing they are at business and how rich he is, and how good at deals he is, he sure doesn't want us to see any of proof of all that stuff...

    That title was a joke.

    And yes, he will appeal.

^^^But if he appeals to the SC, they may decide not to decide. (adjudicate)

And if that happens then the lower court ruling stands.

Exactly. My gut feeling and my hope is that they'll say "Nope, we don't want any part of this".

I have no need to know. As the law stands, he has the same right to keep it private as you, me and Jeff Bezos.

Actually, it is important to know if a sitting president has had any dealings that could put him in a compromising position with another country, you know, just for arguments sake, let's say Russia. You, me or Jeff Bezos don't have the same exposure. Nice try though, but a fail.

Yes, you have an opinion. As the law stands you are wrong.

Apparently the courts are on my side right now and not yours as they have refused to block congress from getting his tax returns. What law are you referencing?:biglaugh:

In terms of Trump's tax returns I've always had a lot of questions... Kind of for both parties on this.
If his Tax-returns proved Fraud or some kind of illegal activities wouldn't the IRS have caught that by now? Or are we saying they're completely freaking oblivious and bad at their jobs?
If his tax returns are clean and show how amazing he is, which is something he claims about himself, why is he so secretive about them? Like sure if you asked me for my tax-returns I'd probably tell you to go fly a kite, but if the DA asked me for them, I'd probably hand them over because I really don't have anything to hide.

At this point would getting his tax returns accomplish anything? It would either be clean and change no one's opinion. Be dirtier than Al Capone and change no one's opinion.

The whole thing though is incredibly funny to me. If I was going to brag about how rich I was, brag about how good I am at making deals (even write a book about it). Flex my campaign on how great of a businessman I was, then refuse to hand over what would essentially prove that for good, it's funny how much he doesn't want the "proof" out there.

With a president it's not whether he did anything illegal by IRS standards with his money, it's whether he violated the constitution by accepting foreign aid and can be considered easily compromised with Russia or another country which could give them leverage over him.

Well, that's hard to prove even with a tax return, it's not going to say. From Putin $20 dollars with a receipt. I mean I suppose that because of the subject, it could be that obvious...

More than likely though it would be like, this business, got paid by this guy, who got paid by this guy with some link to Russia (as an example), and that's going to be extremely hard to prove that it was accepting foreign aid. My issue is his whole campaign was "look I am good at business", but he can't / won't prove it. We're expected to just believe it when he was born into this world filthy rich, it's hard to know if any of that good business was him or his dad... I just don't think his Tax Returns will lead very far unless he or his accountant I guess was dumb enough to make it super obvious, but maybe I'm wrong.

    >>> It is their job. That is why we all send them ours, same as him.

    >>> Not for me, but it suppose the Dems see it as good fishing grounds.

    >>>> I would imagine he wants to talk about what he thinks is his job as President. Talking about his tax returns is probably not in his interest, nor is it our business. I guess I don't understand what there is to prove. Just guessing but I suspect he wants to comply with the law, not more, not less.

If his whole campaign about being a good businessman was a lie. If he is so good at business he has yet to actually prove that. All we really know is that his Dad was and he has apparently not driven himself into poverty which I guess is a good place to start.

We have no idea how simple it is, but like they say in many cases, follow the money. If he has nothing to hide, then show them, but his insistence of not wanting them released points towards someone who is likely hiding something and/ or guilty of something.

Oh heck! It seems quite obvious to me. Forty years ago or so he was living under the supervision of the courts to pay off debits. The court had him on a budget. Since then he has added properties to his list all over the world. Any one of them would convince me I was rich, if I owned it. But,,, I don't think he has any obligation to convince me, you or congress.

Yeah, it was said Manafort was rich and then we find out how leveraged he was with Russians and Ukraine and he is now sitting in prison.
