Armani quotes on Gallinari: "He has to go to Denver that isn't like New York, and not even like Milan, but we all have to make sacrifices" Ouch
There was some article discussing what would be the worst team in the West. Denver might be a candidate, at least talent-wise, especially if they lose Nene AS WELL. But with Karl and Dre, I don't think they'll be the WORST. (Gallinari produced in Europe, but his team floundered, while Lawson did nothing for his Lithuanian team (while Sonny Weems blossomed). I guess it really is a different game.)
There's a fantasy tip for you. Afflalo, Harrington, and Gallo will both be legit producers. Might even want to look at Faried and Mozgov, 'cause they have no other bigs.
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski One league official says there are seven NBA teams that have two stretches of 5 games in 6 nights this season. Good luck with that.
In looking at the map, we rally should be in the pacific division and Montana or one of the Dakotas need to step up and get an NBA team. There needs to be some conference and divisional realignment. But yeah, you know Portland is going to get the shaft when it comes to scheduling.
I bet their first call was to Portland for Camby's EC. Talk about sandbagging it after he signed his large contract -- he went from a 19PER player to a 12PER.
in the last 2 years biedrins has gone from shooting 3.5 ft a game to .5 ft a game, and at a .300 pace...his game has gone to absolute shit
Afflalo might leave the Nuggets as well. Believe it or not, he's one of the "hottest" names in free agency. At this rate the Nuggets will be forced to sign free agents to have enough players for a starting lineup. (Minnesota has three major reasons why they'll be better this year: Derrick Williams, Ricky Rubio and (most importantly) Rick Adelman.) (My vote for worst is probably Sacramento, because I think Tyreke Evans is way overrated and Cousins will always be a headcase. But Evans should be better than last year, and Cousins looked in way better shape over the Summer... And then of course there's THE JIMMER!!!!)
Denver is doing it right. There are some major studs towards the top of the draft. They have a real chance of landing a potential superstar if they suck bad enough. 1 step backwards to take 2 steps forwards is a much better plan than the other way around
So the Clippers have been geniuses all this time? Draft high, save money, let all your FAs bugger off, be profitable, rinse, repeat. That plan of having Carmelo force his way out was extra-subtle.
Well, they have the same number of titles we do in the least 30 years. Denver is a pretty well run franchise. I think with some good draft picks, they can be right back in the hunt.
Absolutely. When I first saw they were losing three players to China, my first thought was crap, they are going to be able to build a good team.
I agree on Denver, provided they lose Nene and Afflalo. I like both of those players, loved Afflalo out of the draft a while ago. But neither of those guys are #1 options, or likely even #2 options. Can't afford to cripple yourself with two huge contracts for a rebuilding team, to guys who shouldn't be paid that much.
Sorta like us with Roy, and to a lesser extent Wallace and Camby (although both Wallace and Camby are pretty good assets to trade)
